Chalavro — Restaurant in Municipality of Oropedion Lasithiou

We visited this place in Sept/Covid time. Sadly, the place was basically empty so instead of choosing from the menu we asked what they had on hand that was the freshest and available. We were served these lovely cheese pies! They were perfectly crispy on the outside, filled with delicate Mizithra (Ricotta like) cheese and fragrant mint from their garden beds finished with delicate honey and cinnamon. Perfection! The staff was like most Cretans, gracious, sincere and a pleasure to talk to. The location is incredibly beautiful and loaded with massive lavender, mint & rosemary plants throughout the restaurant. I should also mention the glorious views at 1050 ft...

We visited the restaurant at 17:00 and the kitchen was almost closed...the few things that were available and we ate were below average. The roasted lamb was burned, the mpifteki smelled awfully, the fries were cold. The place is beautifully decorated and has a beautiful view over the plateau that's the only reason...

Das Essen war super lecker ☺️ Keine Ahnung was hier manche Bewerten aber wahrscheinlich die Tourischuppen unterhalb. Das Essen war extrem lecker der Service schnell und sehr freundlich. Wir hatte Tzatziki, Grilled Beef Burger und Schweinefleisch das super zart war und nach Angabe der Bedienung von der Mutter zubereitet über 4h. Das schmeckte man auch :) Das Bier war eiskalt und schmeckt köstlich. Im Anschluss gab es noch ein kleines Dessert auf Kosten des Hauses. Auch die Preise sind in der Karte angegeben, werden ordentlich auf der Rechnung ausgewiesen und die Portionen sind mehr als ausreichend. Ich persönlich weiß wie gesagt nicht was hier der ein oder andere Bewertet aber ich gehe davon aus das sie die Touribuden unterhalb meinen wo es natürlich auch "günstiger" ist 😂. Von meiner Seite klare Empfehlung an alle die mal die Höhle von Zeus besuchen und danach gut Hunger...
