I recently dined at Taverna Paradeisos, and it was a delightful experience! Nestled in a charming part of town, this traditional Greek taverna offers an inviting ambiance with its rustic decor and warm atmosphere. The moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and excited to try their offerings. I ordered the Chicken Shish Kebab, and it exceeded my expectations. The chicken was perfectly grilled, tender, and juicy, with a delightful smoky flavor that complemented the marinade. The kebabs were served with a generous portion of fluffy pita bread, fresh vegetables, and a side of tangy tzatziki sauce. The combination of flavors was simply divine, making every bite a pleasure. The staff at Taverna Paradeisos were friendly and attentive, ensuring that my dining experience was enjoyable from start to finish. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations, which added to the overall experience. One of the best Greek taverns I have visited so far. The place was fully booked, which is always a good sign.

It had a great variety of Greek traditional dishes and everyone was satisfied with the quality and size of the portions. The staff were friendly and accommodating. I ordered a mixed grill and they allowed me to swap some of the meat with what I wanted, with no extra charge. They were reasonably priced and we all left satisfied.

A couple of negatives: no music and obviously as it is the standard in Greek restaurants, everyone was smoking inside. For those that give negative reviews because of this, please try to understand that this is common practice in Greece. There is a no smoking law, but nobody enforces it,...

This old style tavern with exclusively Athenian customers offers a very authentic Greek meal, with a focus on meat (excellent lamb steaks and lamb ribs, tasty kokoretsi, pork). Fantastic is also the homemade sweets, bougatsa (pie filled with vanilla cream, chocolate or cinamon) and mastika (an incredible digestive, cilled). It's not easy at all to reach this 100-year-old tavern (being located somewhere in the Petropolis area - a good taxi driver could manage to find it) but it worth visiting in the evening (the place is full after 9 pm) by tourists looking for fully understanding the flavor...
