Terrible Service & Burnt Food – Never Again!

Our hotel is located right next to this restaurant, so we eagerly awaited its opening at the start of the season in May. On its first day, we happily visited and ordered chicken souvlaki and chicken fillet à la crème with rice and salad. We repeatedly clarified that we did not want fries.

After over an hour, we were served the chicken souvlaki and—surprise!—a salad we never ordered. The waiter seemed confused, even though it wasn’t hard to remember: only two other couples were dining there.

The chicken quality was mediocre at best: not fillet, but gristly, fatty pieces, and worst of all—the souvlaki were completely charred. The rice and salad were okay. Another 15 minutes later, the chicken à la crème arrived… also burnt. Starving, we forced ourselves to eat what was essentially coal. No apologies were offered—just the bill.

Such a shame! We’re staying nearby for 5 more weeks and had hoped to dine here regularly. But after this disaster? Not a chance. We’ll gladly walk farther to a different tavern where the food and service are actually...

I had pleasure to visit this local tavern. First thing that I noticed was pleasant, fun, easy going and informant service. Two gentlemen that I wish could serve me every time I visit restaurants. Next thing that I spot was size of meals. These were really big. And I say this as 185cm/90kg man. Another simple detail was taste. Vetegables were fresh and juicy. Perfectly seasoned. Greece salad was amazing. I had never had such gorgeous version of this simple salad. Next we were served main meals which were chicken kebab and pork souvlaki. This one was too much for both of us to finish. Perfectly cooked meat. Delicate French fries. Fried pita. And one of not the best tzatziki. It was made from best cucumbers I ever had. Just amazing. We consumed this with carafe of local white wine(dry). It matched perfectly with meals. If that was enough we wre served a mini flask of raki and two pieces of sweet pie. You can see everything on photos. If you will have ever option to visit this place, it’s a must be. Best 2 hours of my stay at Sfakaki. Solid 5 stars because I...

Good food, but somewhat off a hustler Company. We ordered take away 22/7-2025 order nr. 15004, and paid extra for gyros on one pizza, and feta on another. When we got home, 20 minutes away, we discovered that none of the extras were present. I called the restaurant, and they told us, that we could come and pick up 2 new pizzas, but I told the guy on the phone, that it would take us 40 minutes to pick up and go home. So we agreed that we would come and eat at the restaurant today 23/7, but when we arrived at the restaurant, there was a sign telling us that every Wednesday is closed. Why not tell me that...

From the first day we became loyal customers of the tavern, throughout our stay in Crete. We ordered various dishes, being 3 families, all giving positive feedback for everything we ordered. The staff is kind and attentive, increasing the pleasure of eating in this place. We noticed Cristina from the first evening, kind, open and pleasant. We are sure that we will return here on a possible future vacation. It is a perfect place for a successful relaxation.
