A family run business over generations, Old Monolithos Taverna offers amazing food and joyful atmosphere. I definitely recommend to make a stop there if in the region and try their delicious food - the eggplant salad, the spicy cheese and the fresh fish are just incredible. On the menu you will find other amazing main course choices, variety of breads, spreads and salads. Everything is very delicious and made after you order with fresh ingredients and a lot of love coming from the owners Despina and Manolis themselves. All of that would be accompanied by great sense of humour coming from Manolis, who is the soul of the place, and great attention to detail in the kitchen coming from his wonderful wife Despina. Traditional Greek cuisine and hospitality at it's best. Delicious dishes,carefully prepared and absolutely relaxing atmosphere. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. This is a family operated restaurant and everything is simple and proper. Everything is daily fresh and some grocery from the village. I would recommend to visit in the afternoon as the sunset view from there is unfortunate. It is written that the service is slow and if you are in a hurry, this place is not for you. However, the service was great, even if a bit slower than other places in Rhodes it was still correct, and the owners are super kind. We took the eggplant salad which is cooked with some cheese inside and absolutely loved it. The best one we ate during our stay. We also took greek sausages with a salad, bread with olive dip, and a smoked herring. Everything was good and when you eat you have a beautiful view on the seaside.
