An Authentic Greek Experience Worthy of a Michelin Star!

This authentic Greek restaurant was an absolute delight! The food was incredibly delicious, with traditional Greek dishes prepared in a wonderful and authentic style that brought out the best flavors. Each bite was a true taste of Greece.

Our server was exceptionally patient, taking the time to explain the menu and make recommendations, which made our dining experience even more enjoyable. The warm, family atmosphere made us feel right at home, and it's clear that the restaurant takes great pride in both its food and hospitality.

We were also impressed by how easily they accommodated our group of 13—8 adults and 5 children. The staff made us feel welcome, and the children loved the food, devouring every bite. The grilled goat and lamb were absolutely scrumptious and a highlight of the meal. Every single Meze we ordered—and we did order a lot—was exceptional, showcasing a variety of rich flavors. It’s rare to find a place that can cater so well to both adults and kids, but this restaurant did so effortlessly.

We wouldn't have found this hidden gem if it weren't for a local recommending it to us, and we are so glad they did. The prices were very moderate, especially considering the quality of the food and the experience. This place truly deserves a Michelin star! I recently dined at Anthoula Greek Tavern, and it was an absolutely perfect experience that I can’t stop raving about! From the moment we walked in, the staff welcomed us with such warmth and genuine hospitality that it felt like we were stepping into a family gathering. The atmosphere was cozy yet vibrant, filled with the aromas of authentic Greek cooking that instantly made us feel at home. The food was nothing short of phenomenal. We learned that the owner’s mother is the mastermind behind the kitchen, pouring her heart into every dish. Everything we tried— the kleftiko, the dolmades, the meatballs - the amazing salads - everything was l so fresh, one of our favorite food experiences in Greece.

What truly set Anthoula apart, though, was the staff’s passion and generosity. They treated us like family, checking in with genuine smiles and sharing stories about the dishes. To top it all off, they surprised us with free desserts—homemade baklava and ice cream that were pure heaven. It was such a sweet, unexpected gesture that made the night even more memorable.

We visited this restaurant twice during our holiday on Rhodes as a couple. Prices are average to slightly higher compared to other restaurants on the island. Our overall experience was very pleasant, and I can warmly recommend it.

There is plenty of parking available and the location is easily accessible. The atmosphere is nice – usually calm, though it can get a bit livelier at times. The service was excellent: the staff regularly checked if everything was fine or if we needed anything else.

The food itself was outstanding, with something for everyone to enjoy. Dining here also includes a mandatory table charge, but this is balanced by small extras: we received bread with olive spread as a starter, and after the meal we were offered a complimentary shot of ouzo and a small dessert.
