Friendly staff. A menu with a rich choice of dishes. We were fully satisfied with we ordered. They were obviously made of high quality products (no cheap substitutes), cooked dutifully (with the proper care and experience) and tasty. My wife was surprised how soft and juicy were chicken suvlaki (which often happen somehow dry at other places). I was pleased with a soft beef stifado. My son disputed with me if the musaka he had was the first or second best we have tried so far on the island :-) (I think it was rather on the second place, but still this is a very good performance, given the number of places we have visited on Rhodes :-). At the end we got a nice surprise: a collection of small desserts, which were excellent. We also appreciated that the tavern was open in the late afternoon, so we could have a lunch here at 4pm, without crowds. We sat inside in a well air conditioned room. It is also nice that there is a parking place under trees just...

We came here because of the excellent rate and comments from other guests. And left completely puzzled... Why such high marks? Atmosphere is good. Service is average. Nobody even once asked us if we enjoyed our food (which we didn't) or if needed anything else. And last but not least- the food. Starters were almost identical to any other place around. Humus had an excellent texture and taste, vegetables were nicely done, etc. But the main courses were clear disaster! Meat was super dry and overcooked. Spaghetti were overcooked as well and shrimps in them were equally dry (like the meat). My wife tried reall hard to finish her octopus out of pure curtesy... The rest of us left half of the food on the plates. The waiter didn't even bother to ask if there were (clearly) any problems with the food. Conclusion: 120 euros (for 4 people) could have been...

Headed to tsambikos as it is rated number 1 restaurant near kolymbia. I feel bad to write this review as the staff were really friendly and we really appreciate the gift you receive at the end.

But mine and my partners Dinners were completely covering in grease from cooking and almost to the point of being unedable I ordered the beef with onion I recommend not having it as the amount of onions you get is rediculous plus not very nice.

My partner had the sword fish again very greasy and didn't taste like how either of us remembered sword fish tasting like.

While we was still eating our starters the meatballs and garlic mushroom again very greasy, they brought of mains our to us while we still had half of our starters to eat not good at all!

Wish I never...

A place right next to the road with some very good tasting food. The Tsatsiki and the pita bread is great as a starter. As a main course we had sword fish. Big portion and great tasting. Comes with rice and fries normally. I only chose the rice. Little downfall for us was that we had 4 people and they forgot the main course on one, which ment I had to wait for it while the others already ate. But I believe they lowered the bill in the end, unfortunately I did not take a closer look. 4 people, starters, 1l wine, 3 sodas and another glass of white wine. All for 80€. A very fair price. They served uzo each, a house likeur, 4 baklava and small ice cream for free and finally we got a 1/2 l wine as a present to go.

We had an exceptional dining experience at this lovely tavern. From the moment we arrived, the warm and welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a wonderful evening. The highlight of the meal was undoubtedly the moussaka, rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked, it was an absolute delight. The service was nothing short of superb—attentive, friendly, and genuinely caring. After our meal, we were treated to an assortment of delicious goodies, including some of the best baklava we’ve tasted, accompanied by ice cream and a unique mastic liquor, which added a delightful local touch to the experience. But the generosity didn’t stop there, we were gifted a bottle of rosé. Truly a gem you won’t want to miss!

Looking at older pictures I think they used to be a better restaurant. Now you get a piece of precooked moussaka and pastitsio (greek lasagna). Both were not hot enough and clearly not that fresh. They did have quite a good red wine on the menu - Mega Spileo Cuvee III. If you like bold red ones I recommend you try it when you get a chance. Traditional salad (greek + anchovies and aubergines) - I don’t think they improved the basic salad but that may be just me. The extras after dinner were quite decent - 2 sorts of ice cream, baklava, skinos (not ouzo) and a 0.5L bottle of white wine (quite pleasant when chilled)
