Myself and my partner decided to eat here as the original restaurant we were going to was fully booked.||I ordered the prawn spaghetti and to my absolute DISGUST, the prawns were green inside the head (Which is a telltale sign of contamination of blue green algae, aka Cyanobacteria which when eaten can lead to serious illness or death) ||My partner (Who has a Masters Degree in marine biology/fisheries management) noticed this, as she has dissected numerous crustaceans and shellfish, and identified it as the accumulation of blue-green algae (Cyanobacteria) the digestive tract of all 3 prawns that were on my plate.||I then asked the “Owner” what the blue/green was inside of the prawns digestive tracts, she assured me that “this is normal” my partner then asked where the prawns came from, to which the owner said “the fisherman” before storming off back to the till area, where she stood on her phone for the rest of our meal.||As we were about to leave, we asked for the bill and I tried to speak to this “owner” about my dish and stated that how she had treated us and spoken to us was not okay as we had only requested additional information. She did not respond very well to this, even though it was completely just and fair feedback and a fair question.||She stated that prior to this, we had been “rude” because we asked where the prawns were from. I responded and simply said that I was only asking a question about a dish which I was going to be paying for and was presented with. ||Apparently it is not okay to ask your server about your dish if you have any concerns, she then started raising her voice ignoring our concerns regarding this public safety issue, and she shouted at both of us asking if we were going to pay, and threatening to call the police if we did not. I had never said I was not going to pay, all I said was that the dish I served and her service was not okay. As a paying customer or any consumer of a service, I presumed it would be fair to ask about my dish (Which appeared to be contaminated with toxic algae) ||My partner informed this woman that it was in fact toxic blue green algae, to which she responded “it’s just plant” which confirms she was aware of its presence in the prawns but did not know what it was nor cared. Considering she is the owner of a “restaurant” it is a matter of public safety that she is aware of all potential sources of threats to human health.||She again threatened to call to the police and this is also when the “chef” and another elderly man who seemed to be part of the staff began shouting at us both. We simply were requesting additional information on the dish as it was highly concerning. All three of them were highly aggressive and were making myself and especially my partner feel very unsafe in this situation. So we decided to simple pay the bill (which we intended to regardless) and leave as we feared for our safety. ||Upon leaving I took a picture of the restaurant so I could A) inform the local authorities of their extreme aggression, anger and common assault, violence and failure to meet health and safety standards. B) inform tripadvisor of this experience to ensure the future safety of any potential travellers. After doing this, the elderly gentleman started storming out with something in his hand, I do not know what had hold of, however I would take an educated guess as to the nature of his gesturing that it was probably some sort of weapon/glass to threaten us with. ||Myself and my partner have never experienced anything like this abroad or in the UK. Considering we were simply asking a standard question as to where the shellfish came from out of concern for my personal health and well-being, we were called rude, denied any assistance or information, threatened and subject to intense and continue aggression. It was a simple question and we were met with a huge and aggressive overreaction. We were not complaining we asked a fair question regarding our food that the “owner” of a restaurant should know. We were chased out and threatened after asking this apparently insulting question. ||DO NOT GIVE THIS PLACE...
Read moreI attended this restaurant on the basis of the relatively cheap menu and the close proximity to the beach. I ordered the prawn spaghetti and noticed on the prawns head there was blue/green discolouration. I was unsure what this could be until I overheard a couple who questioned it to the owner. They stated it looked like blue-green algae. ||||After hearing this, the woman who I believe was the owner became very aggressive and shouted at the pair who had asked where the prawns were caught. To my absolute disgust and shock she did not know and continued to shout at them and threatened to call the police if they did not pay. I was astounded by her aggressive and violent behaviour as a restaurant owner. I was also concerned why she did not know the location of the prawns as I had just eaten them. One of the couples said the algae was toxic, and the owner said it was a plant and that was why the flesh was blue/green. Out of concern for my own health I researched what this blue green algae was and discovered it is a toxic bacteria that can accumulate in shellfish and cause serious harm to humans when ingested. ||I am absolutely appalled and frankly disgusted at the very least the quality of food. From what I heard, the young couple only asked where the prawns were caught and said they were not satisfied and concerned with that dish. The owner and other staff members were HIGHLY aggressive and almost violent towards the couple who I only felt sorry for. ||In my personal opinion from observing this and being subject to contaminated food, this restaurant should not be open and the owner certainly should not be in a managerial position let alone out of a prison. She and the other staff were hostile, aggressive, violent and scary. Avoid...
Read moreWe wish we could agree with the other reviews, but unfortunately, we cannot. Staff: inattentive and arrogant. They didn’t clear our plates (for example, after the starter), and dirty dishes kept piling up on the table. When my girlfriend asked about one of the menu items (shrimps), specifically if it came with a side dish, the waiter was unable to give any answer. However, since the shrimp were listed as a main course, we assumed it would come with a side dish like the other main meals. Instead, we received a tiny plate of shrimp with just a slice of lemon. When we asked about a side dish after the food arrived, the waiter arrogantly pretended not to understand what was wrong. My girlfriend then had to order a salad separately. My meal was good, but the side dish was inadequate compared to the size of the fish. The starter (fried feta) was good. To top it all off, we had to wait 20 minutes just to pay — we wanted to pay at the counter, but the waiters insisted we stay seated and wait. The setting and the sea view were beautiful, but unfortunately, our overall experience at this restaurant was disappointing. We...
