Food 2/5 - Ordered cheese balls which they didn’t have, replaced with a baked feta dish which was very nice! My other half ordered Tzatziki with Pita which was also nice.
Mainz we ordered Chicken Souvlaki which wasn’t bad, just a little dry but my Mrs ordered the Mousaka which arrived boiling hot on the top but still freezing cold/Frozen in the middle. We returned this meal and asked for some more Pita and Tzatziki for her as she’s very fussy with food not being prepared safely.
Service 1/5 - slow to be served while busy, I’d say more staff required on the evenings they offer entertainment to allow people to take drinks orders more frequently. Beer was served in a can with a tumbler instead of a beer glass. Retsina was nice! EDITED Was a 3 but after the comments from the owner, absolutely disgusting.
Atmosphere 5/5 - Offered entertainment on the evening which was amazing! Singer was very entertaining and then the family began an array of Greek dancing which had crowd participation! Had a wonderful time dancing and singing, then of course the traditional plate smashing! Wonderful!
Finally, I think the restaurant itself needs a clean, toilets were very dirty and had no locks or “male or female” signage meaning anyone can just walk into the unlocked cubicle while you’re in there. This needs to be fixed! The outside area is nice and airy!
Overall not a terrible place but for us a bad experience. If you want Greek tradition by a Greek family then it’s certainly worth a visit.
EDIT I believe my review was fair but the response of the owner of call us weird is a disgrace, clearly in denial about the restaurant and looking through other reviews it’s quite apparent.
Also, how can you be so ignorant to the fact you send FROZEN food that is advertised as FRESH to our table and justify yourself by suggesting “it depends how hot you like it”. No Miss. it was cold and DANGEROUS to consume.
I’d suggest you don’t respond to your reviews or have Google remove the feature if you cannot respond professionally. You’ve made yourself look ridiculous and I hope anyone seeing this gives this place a wide birth, for your...
Read moreBooked because we wanted a really traditional Greek evening! We had read reviews and had high hopes but were sadly disappointed! I have since reread the reviews and found that anyone who dares to criticise are responded to with venomous replies indicating that they as customers were at fault! We had a table booked for 20.30hrs but on our arrival a table hadn’t been been reserved for us! We were directed to a table with 2 chairs ( there were 3 of us) and luckily a couple on a neighbouring table eventually gave us a chair as no one in the restaurant bothered! At least 3 other tables that arrived and were seated after us had their food and drink delivered well before ours! We ordered food and drink (starters and mains) after a 45 minute wait and after another 45 minute wait 2 of our mains and one starter arrived but all were cold! The food was put on the table and the server left before we’d had a chance to taste, within a couple of minutes we had called him back to say our food was cold and plates were missing only to be responded to in a confrontational way saying they would remake it, but we said no we were not happy and also unsure as to how they could do that immediately when we had already waited an hour and a half! I know from other reviews that weren’t glowing that the response from the owners will be acidic but think future customers need to be aware that this restaurant is definitely not all it’s cracked up to be! I think maybe if you’re French you might get served quicker but don’t quote me on that! All in all a very disappointing evening! Admittedly we only paid for the drinks as the food did not warrant payment and was untouched apart from a mouthful but even one spoilt evening on your annual holiday is one too many!!! Avoid...

We visited Spitaki in Theologos last night at 20:30 and were lucky to get the last available table — unfortunately, that was where the good part ended.
Service was extremely slow and disorganised. Within 10 minutes of our arrival, two nearby tables left after waiting too long to be served, and a third asked for their food to go as their young daughter was falling asleep from the wait.
We ordered a litre of dry red wine and received only half a litre. A second half-litre came later, but it was sweet red wine — not what we ordered. We also ordered ouzo to enjoy as an apéritif, but it arrived only after the wine, well after its purpose had passed.
As for the food: the moussaka was good and clearly homemade, but the seafood was disappointing — very small portions, cold mussels that had clearly been reheated multiple times, and a limp salad with no dressing. We even had to ask for bread to accompany the dip.
After waiting 1.5 hours, we ate simply because we were too hungry not to. We raised our concerns twice: the first time, the waiter deflected blame; the second time, while paying, we were laughed at — a very poor way to handle honest feedback.
Spitaki may have charm, but our experience was marred by poor service, inconsistent food, and an unprofessional attitude. Sadly, we won't...
