O BPAXOS — Restaurant in Municipality of Samothraki

I never experienced something bad as this before...

....We went as a group of 4 to enjoy a great evening but everything went wrong.

We tried to order a rocket salad with parmesan cheese, a grilled chicken, feta saganaki, grilled pork souvlaki and many other dishes BUT except for the salad (I will write about that disgusting salad in a minute) they had nothing to offer. Any dish I would have liked was not available.

In fact, 80% of the menu items were not available!!!!! I was astonished but not in a positive way. Besides the fact that they did not have it, there was no mean of apology or regret or similar, just: We don't have these items (supposed to be one of the leading restaurants on the island of Samothraki)

Now to the "rocket" salad with "parmesan cheese": The salad was extremely old, mush and tainted with black and brown spots which they tried to cover with balsamic oil. The cheese was some goat cheese shaved into parmesan like pieces and was nothing like a parmesan cheese.

When I confronted them with the old salad, they took it with again no apology or regret, just looked at me like he is hating me for returning this rotten salad.

The bread..... again.... never had anything comparably bad anywhere, heavy, dense, tasteless and quite inedible.

I was positively impressed by the tasty Tsatsiki but come on, we are in Greece, thats what I just expect.

Overall I seriously have never been to a worse place (the view is nice though and thats the only fact earning a star)

If the owner and their attitude change, I could eventually consider coming again as the view is really stunning.

Take this feedback as a serious wakeup call and stop disliking tourists which are your main...

We’ve ordered 0.5k of Goat and a traditional salad however,it was really good But the menu is extremely basic regarding meat choices.They had almost nothing.The owners were really unprofessional and disrespectful. First of all, they were stalking us , almost wanted make us leave because of their obviously tirdness.As long as you define your working schedule like this you offend to be there for your customer! FOR THE FINALE main cooker came OUTSIDE OF THE STORE out of nowhere as while as we getting ready to leave , to start a fight with me because he heard that my girlfriend is complaining and vomiting because of his bad cooked eggplants(something that never happened )Anyway,he started to make me questions in a very loud way like “DO you know how many times i have cooked eggplants “?? 😭😭It was very funny and sad the same moment. I have to say that Service is good and we really appreciated the delicious traditional sweet which was on the house !In general,everything else was a parody.THIS IS NOT WHAT GREEK...

If it weren't for the natural fertiliser from goats they had been using on the plant pots near tables, I would give 5 stars (Christ, it smelled so bad!) The food is great and very tasteful, but you have to wait a lot to get your orders. And what is it with bringing whatever you need every 10 minutes? You sit at the table and after 10 minutes you get the glasses. After 10 minutes you get the water. Then forks, then menu, then bread, then retsina, then salad, then the goat (alleluia) an finally you get the French fries - at least 10 minutes gap between each. Bottom line - as you got up that hill for the goat in your plate , you'll have it....
