Botzi 93 Sifnos — Restaurant in Municipality of Sifnos

Botzi93 – Charming warren of rooms and terraces evoking an Ibiza Old Town vibe of 1976. We only popped by for a morning coffee, but the breakfasts and brunches being munched down around us all looked tempting, bar the Nutella pancake monstrosity that I’ll never get my head or mouth around. Maybe it’s a tradition at hip café stops on the island, but once again our two cappuccinos (€9.00) were barely above the chilled vibe of the outdoor spaces. Maybe there’s a huge class action suit pending litigation in some Athens court that has cafés running terrified from heating coffee and milk, or maybe you only get tepid cappuccinos when you don’t order breakfast or brunch (“Hot cappuccinos are for closers.”). Who am I to judge at a place that was filled to the gills with ‘the real’ Sifnos insiders. We returned for cocktails to give the place a second chance. Service was colder than our cappuccinos the morning before. Sifnos ordinarily does not do 'surly' service. Botzi 93 virtually makes a brand statement of cool, just in a very bad way. Great spot for a drink with friends! The view from the roof was superb at night and everyone enjoyed their drinks. The only issue was that the music from this place and the music from the place across the street could be heard at the same time and it would drive us crazy. But if you don't sit next to the speakers you probably won't have an issue. The prices were quite okay. In general a good casual place for a night out...

Ομορφο στέκι πολυεπίπεδο, μέσα σε στενάκι, με ομορφη ταρατσουλα που όταν περνας από μπροστά του στον κεντρικό δρόμο της πιάτσας της Απολλωνίας φαίνεται στα κλεφτα, και σε προκαλεί να πας. Την πρώτη μέρα, θα συναντουσαμε παρέα, οπότε καθησαμε σχετικά νωρίς, δεν είχε πολύ κόσμο στις 9 περίπου, και παραγγείλαμε κοκτέιλ, τίποτε το ιδιαίτερο και μια pinsa margarita που στον κατάλογο έγραφε οτι ηταν με μοτσαρέλα και φρεσκο βασιλικό. Δυστυχώς ηρθε κρύα (!) στο κέντρο και ζεστή στις άκρες, μαλλον δεν ψήνεται εκείνη την ώρα, απλά τη ζεσταίνουν και δεν είχε ουτε φρεσκια ντομάτα ουτε ίχνος βασιλικού. Είναι πολύ εύκολο να φτιάξεις μια μαργαρίτα, με φρεσκο ντοματινι, λιγο ελαιόλαδο και φρεσκο βασιλικο, γίνεται αυτόματα τέλεια χωρίς προσπάθεια! Αυτό μου φάνηκε πολύ ξεπετα και δεν θα ξαναπήγαινα... Μεχρι τις 11:00 το μαγαζί γέμισε παντού κι είχε ωραία ατμόσφαιρα... Την επόμενη μέρα το πρωί, ψάχναμε να φάμε πρωινό μεσα στη χώρα αλλα δεν υπήρχε τίποτε άλλο ανοιχτο κι έτσι ξανακαθησαμε στο Botzi, με μισή καρδιά πανω στο ταρατσακι. Παραγγειλαμε καφε και αυγά δυο ειδων, καγιανα και ομελέτα και ηταν του ονείρου, όπως και συνολικά πανέμορφη η δεύτερη εμπειρία! Θα το ειχαμε κατατάξει στα πολυ μέτρια λοιπόν αν μέναμε στο πρώτο βραδυ, άρα με λίγη προσοχή θα είναι top. Καλο υπόλοιπο...
