I very rarely write reviews (almost never), but now I'm writing it to warn potential guests of this tavern what they can expect in this place. Due to the nature of my work, I often travel around the world, I attend business lunches and dinners almost every day, so I can say that my word carries weight when I decided to write a review about my experience in this tavern. Although it was not in the top 5 places of the best taverns in Nikiti, I wanted to give this place a chance because I love Greece, I love their traditional cuisine, I love those authentic Greek taverns with blue and white tablecloths (this tavern seemed like that at first glance) but because of such unpleasant experiences, I am starting to think that I will never visit Greece again because I feel betrayed, a bit like a suckling sheep, which I am certainly not. When we arrived, my wife and I, it seemed that it would be a beautiful evening like the last 9 that we spent in Nikitia, unfortunately it was not. We ordered a salad, an appetizer and a main dish, which were brought to us almost all at the same time, moving things from our table so that everything could fit and move on. All within 5 minutes!!!! It was clear to me right away that this tavern does not serve fresh food, it is reheated by old dishes that were prepared who knows when. I was right. Our main dish was half cold and half hot. Upon my remark that the dish was cold and not fresh, they brought me another plate with the same dish, now slightly better heated, but still far from what is expected from a serious restaurateur and a serious tavern that has a price list like the most expensive pubs in London or Paris. It wasn't better even with my wife's dish, reheated souvlaki that no one seems to have eaten before us. My dears, be careful with these types of taverns, write reviews (I will often start too) and ask for your hard-earned money, the right quality and the right service. The owner is a young, a little bit shy man who obviously made the wrong profession, probably the heir who didn't listen much to his father's advice on how to run the business. Maybe a little personal, but that was my impression. My advice to everyone is to bypass this tavern. There are a lot of them in Nikiti and believe me, they are all better...
Read moreI can't say enough good things about Apovrado Taverna!👏🏻 This place is a true hidden gem. From the moment we stepped into the charming backyard, which felt like the garden of a traditional Greek home - we were enveloped in a warm, homey atmosphere that made us instantly relax.
The food was absolutely outstanding. The Dakos salad was one of the best I've ever had — so fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. And the grilled calamari - unforgettable🤤. You can really taste the love and care that goes into every dish.
The staff were incredibly kind, attentive and accommodating, making sure everything was just right without ever feeling intrusive. Plus, the service was impressively fast, especially considering the high quality of the food.
To top it all off, we were treated to a complimentary shot of mastika at the end of the meal - such a lovely, personal touch that left us smiling:)
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking to enjoy authentic Greek food in a cosy, welcoming setting. We’ll definitely...
Read moreCame at 9:30pm without reservation. The waiter told us we should wait 15 mins which was fine for us. Nobody else was waiting and some tables were free but reserved. 2 more groups came to wait at the entrance. Then after 15 mins we were suddenly told that we would need to wait at least 40 more mins and that we are 3rd in line. Good joke. Needles to say we left so I cannot talk about the food. Edit: changed from 1 star to 4. We did say 5 ppl from the start, our numbers didn't change. Maybe it was a misunderstanding. Anyway we gave it another shot, reserved a table and had the most amazing food ever in Greece. I would give 6 stars for the food if it would let me. The grilled lamb and kalamari (fresh) are to die for! Super tender, juicy and tasty. Only the experience on our first visit keeps me from rating 5 stars. Reserve and you will have...
