We went there at the recommendation of an youtuber about Corfu. I was personally disappointed. We arrived on Saturday evening, around 18:00. All the tables at the terrace, on the seashore were empty but reserved. The entire time we were there almost all of them were empty and remained so. We took a seat inside were the tables were dirty and we felt unwelcomed. The service was more than bad. We waited very long for the order which was taken by someone who seemed to be running the tavern. He was in a hurry and he wanted to take the order very very fast, I felt like in a fast food... He did not give us any menus but asked what we want for a drink. I asked kindly to give us some menus so that we can decide. In the meantime he and another waiter took another tables and seated someone on the aforementioned terrace, on the seaside. So apparently it was more room there and he could have seated us also on the terrace. Anyway ... The food came very slow. We ordered some starters. Taramasalad - fish roe salad 3.5 out of 5 as taste but not very attractive. I had mussels and a glass of white wine. I ate more tasty mussels in Corfu - so definitely not the place for them so 3 out of 5.
Once we finished the order we asked 3 waiters for the check. We waited like 20 minutes for it...
I would...
Read moreThis place is sadly wasting its potential (and partially your money too). As someone who is a seafood enthusiast i simply cannot recommend this place until they change and start doing cuisine instead of business. . The GOOD: Location and view are near perfect. Seating comfort is fairly food. Service was reasonably good, waiter was considerate and friendly. Variety of fish selection is really wide. Accept cards, speak english. . The BAD: Fish NOT fresh (if i am overly optimistic it was 3 days old = soup or fish and chips quality) Overpriced, for same cost you will get significantly better quality elsewhere. NOT transparent, costs NOT communicated before order is condirmed Without invention or any attempt to make tge taste or serving interesting, literally anyone in may family can make better fish in regards id spices or meat consistency even at home. Hygiene issues, allowing cats to climb at customers is an absolute no go. . Summary - this place is NOT for seafood enthusiasts or those who seek quality. It is however a decent "tourist place" for those who simply "want to have a fish". If you are a hungry tourist, you will appreciate the variety of selection and probably wont be bothered by the lack of quality...
Read moreLocated in the remote small fishing village of Boukari, this restaurant is perfect. Just 5-10 walk from Hotel Helios Splendid and right next to the beachfront and bus stop to Corfu Town.
My daughter and I ate here with our friends nearly everyday of our 9 nights in Corfu. The photos don't do the food any justice.
Steak and chips (16€) - It is huge! Yes, it doesn't include all the trimmings and sauces but for that price, the seafront and atmosphere, how can you complain?
Seafood (ranging €7-70) - Whole fish is priced by type and weight. If you're ordering fish, you go inside the restaurant and select the fish you want and you can either have it grilled (seasoned) or boiled in a spicy tomato sauce (the pot is served at the table). Whichever way it's cooked, I can tell you, you'll love it!
There are sides like anchovies, olives, chips, garlic bread and salads.
There's a great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
You always get a complimentary dish of fresh fruit after your meal for dessert or you can order ice lollies, ice creams, yoghurt with honey or baklava (comes with ice cream).
The service is perfect, very friendly and polite. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want to experience...
