Kalami Restaurant Boukari — Restaurant in Municipality of Southern Corfu

I am writing this review because compared to other places on the island in my opinion this place is heavily underrated: we thought the service was exceptionally good, such polite and professional hosts/service and extraordinary good and fresh food! We were treated with so much kindness at this place and really enjoyed the atmosphere. (We were not prepared for a fine night out but you can definitely also enjoy a fine dining experience here. If you visit as ordinary travelers like us you will be treated just as nicely though.) Yes at first glance the prices are higher but this is a real fish restaurant with fresh fetch of the day, all ingredients were super fresh and the meal was just delicious. We had starters and a main course which turned out to be too much for the two of us as the mains were served as big portions with a lot of sides (fresh vegetables, cooked vegetables and french fries). So I think the prices are reasonable compared to the quality you receive if you eat here. So if you are staying in the area we definitely recommend to choose this...

Magical place, delicious food,wonderful hosts,amazing experience!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ In a breathtakingly beautiful atmosphere right by the sea, we were welcomed to our lunch with delicious starters from the house. First visit, the main course, two perfectly grilled sea bream (with plenty of garlic at our request) and the finely seasoned, grilled vegetables (eggplant, zucchini, and peppers), the crispy French fries, and the crunchy cucumber and tomato salad marinated in the house's own olive oil and vinegar were simply delicious, a true poem! During our vacation we visited this fantastic restaurant four times and so we tried Tuna skewer, Sofrito in garlicsauce, Souvlaki with rice, fritted Aubergines, Green pepper, Olives, Tzaziki and last but not least fantastic grilled Swordfish, and be sure it was so delicious. And with every visit, at the end of our meal, we got a fine, sweet surprise (Baklava, Nutcake and Applepie) from the kitchen. The service was perfect, attentive and charming. This is the only place we visitted on Corfu island that well deserves all 5* The reason for this is the high "restaurant level" quality of service which majority of taverns dont offer: you are welcome and seated personally you are offered a wet napkin to clean your hands both before and after the meal you receive a free of charge appetiser while choosing your meal you are asked about diet exceptions and personal preferences throughout the meal you are asked about your experience and needs you receive a free past meal appetiser (drink) . Kalami has a polite, welcoming and english speaking staff. The seating offers a nice view, stylish environment and comfortable furniture. Bar area is great for an after meal drink. Being the last house in the village Kalami beach provides more privacy than other local restaurants. . Food is good and nicely served, although witjout significant invention. Overall a good experience worth a visit or even a short drive...
