Sunset — Restaurant in Municipality of Southern Corfu

I went there on Sunday 9/6 Initially the waitresses were nice and friendly, which made us stay longer, consume more food and order more drinks. To begin with I ordered a wine and a beer while on the beach, then paid for them, soon after my husband ordered a pizza and I said it would be uncomfortable to eat on the beach, so we carried our drinks up to the bar.

Pizza arrived, it was tasty, then my husband ordered another beer and a wine - after that he asked if they could do him a bowl of chips with chili con carne - and he ordered another beer/wine when the food arrived. When the bill arrived, it was just a written bill and not a proper one, I noticed that it said 3 beers and 3 wines, I pointed out I'd paid for the first. I thought that would have been the end of it 'but no' the whole attitude of the waitress/owner changed, no more smiles as they gave us the money back, it felt like they didn't believe me, I'm a very honest person and cannot cheat/lie. It was after about an hour I checked the change and realised once again there had been a mix up and they'd given me the money back for 2 lots instead of one, so as I was leaving I gave them the money back, the blonde Greek/Australian said it had been a mix up but the dark Greek girl would not even acknowledge I was there or what I was doing. It would all have been different if the owner had immediately, said, yes you are correct and just charged what I owed, it ruined the only day I had on a beach in Agios Georgios.

To conclude, the bar is lovely designed and set out (hence the reason we stayed so long) the beds are free, as long as you buy something, the sea is shallow and perfect for young children. Just don't confuse things by moving to the cafe part with your drinks, the owner/waitress is nice until they make a mistake ..... and they think it's you. To be honest I wish I had just paid the extra charge and seen smiles all round, it ruined my 2 days (my only beach day) in Agios Georgios.

EDIT - thank you for explaining, I'm happy to know it wasn't me who upset them, I even said to my husband, maybe she is angry because we gave blonde Maria a 5 euro tip, so we asked her if they share tips, if she had said no - he would have...

Το χωρίο βρίσκεται στο Νότιο μέρος του νησιού της Κέρκυρας και στο μέσον αυτού. Είναι στο στενότερο μέρος του, μήκους περίπου πέντε χιλιόμετρα και βρέχεται από 2 θάλασσες, παραλία Μάλτα – Μέγα Χορού και παραλία Καλυβιώτη. Οι πρώτοι άνθρωποι που κατοίκησαν στις περιοχές του οικισμού Παρασκευά, Σουλάνη και Καλυβιώτη φαίνεται ότι ήρθαν γύρω στον 15ο αιώνα μ.Χ. με στοιχειώδη κατοικία. Κατόπιν και γύρω στον 17ο αιώνα μετοίκησαν στον σημερινό οικισμό όπου και άρχισε η κοινωνική τους οργάνωση, ξεκινώντας να κτίζουν εκκλησίες όπως των Αγίων Σαράντα, με αξιόλογες τοιχογραφίες, του Αγίου Αθανασίου, καθώς και ξωκλήσια όπως της Μεταμορφώσεως (Παντοκράτορα), σε ήσυχο και γεμάτο από δένδρα περιβάλλον, κτίσης του 15ου αιώνα, καθώς επίσης και του Αγίου Βάρβαρου, στην ομώνυμη περιοχή και γεμάτο πράσινο χώρο. Μετά, δημιουργήθηκε το περίφημο καρναβάλι με την Διονυσιακή του λατρεία αλλά και με χριστιανικά στοιχεία, με αποκορύφωμα την Καθαρά Δευτέρα με το κάψιμο του αμαρτωλού και άχρηστου πια καρνάβαλου. Σήμερα το Περιβόλι με 2.000 περίπου κατοίκους, με τουριστική, εμπορική και επαγγελματική ανάπτυξη, καθώς και πολιτιστική, δεσπόζει με τις όμορφες και ήσυχες παραλίες του. Με την φημισμένη αμμουδερή (χρυσή άμμος) παραλία του «Μάρτα», μήκους από την παραλία του Μαραθιά, που χωρίζει το φυσικό όριο-ποτάμι τρία χιλιόμετρα, συνεχίζοντας με άμμο μέχρι την παραλία του «Μέγα Χορού». Άλλη όμορφη παραλία με το ήσυχο και γαλήνιο φυσικό περιβάλλον της για ξέγνοιαστες στιγμές. Στην ευρύτερη περιοχή του «Μάρτα» υπάρχουν εστιατόρια, super markets, και ξενοδοχεία για όμορφες και ήσυχες διακοπές. Δεν παραλείπεται και η ήσυχη και συμπαθητική παραλία του «Καλυβιώτη» σε κοντινή απόσταση από τον οικισμό του χωριού με ενοικιαζόμενα δωμάτια και εστιατόρια....

Amazing location and incredible outdoor seating.

Friendly staff and a very wide selection of breakfast, continental breakfast, yogurt with cereals, salads,baked potato, bread,chips you name it, they have it. The prices on the menu vary, high and low.

Keep in mind that some dishes on the menu are locked until a curtain time, like the bar food section.

If you want you can get a free beach bed after your meal or drink from the sunset cafe.
