This taverna is simply outstanding. It feels like stepping into a real Greek home – warm, authentic, and full of character. The setting is peaceful and relaxing: you dine outdoors, under the trees, in the shade, with a gentle breeze that makes the whole experience unforgettable.
The atmosphere captures the essence of Greece perfectly. Sitting there, you almost feel like a local who has been living in the village for months. It’s the kind of place where time slows down and you just enjoy being present.
The food is incredible, with quality that’s hard to match. The highlight for us was the fresh, colorful baked fish – something you won’t easily find anywhere else. Every dish was prepared with care and full of flavor.
On top of everything, the hospitality was wonderful. Warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly, making us feel completely at home.
A fantastic place all around – highly recommended if you want to experience true Greek atmosphere, amazing food, and...
Read moreBest grilled fresh fish we’ve had during our 8 day stay in Corfu! The parrotfish was caught by the tavern owner himself! The chicken souvlaki was tender and delicious. Delightful setting with a bottlebrush tree in full flower; plus an orange tree AND a lemon tree, both laden with fruit! And a fig tree too, with an olive grove on the opposite side of the road. The taverna owners (husband and wife) were very kindly and both spoke excellent English. They even taught me some Greek words! We had tzitzimbirra (a traditional drink, like a lemony ginger ale) and freshly squeezed orange juice. The toilet was very clean. Soft soothing music was playing in the background - adding to the sense of tranquility. It’s only a short drive to the Korission lagoon, where we saw many wading birds (but no flamingoes yet- perhaps they’ll appear later in May). The chalikounas beach had...
Read moreLovely small traditional Corfiat taverna high up in the hills overlooking XXXXXX. You dine on a terrace with stunning views out across the Ionian Sea and the beach far, far below.
The food is good home cooked fayre. We had a minor issue with wasps but that is to be expected at this time if year. Simply ask the owner to light some coffee grinds in a silver foil tray and this will minimise their nuisance.
Not open when we were there is a roof terrace with even more spectacular views. I would imagine as you are away from the surrounding vegetation here that wasps would be less of a problem.
In summary this is a very pleasant Corfiat taverna serving tasty local dishes and the usual selection of hot & cold drinks.
The drive to get here is worth it for the...
