The best hidden gem in Corfu! We discovered this lovely traditional taverna yesterday and were immediately charmed. We ordered two portions of fried calamari — they were fresh, crispy, and absolutely delicious. We asked the owner (a kind elderly gentleman doing his best to communicate despite limited English) if they had stuffed calamari. It wasn’t on the menu, but he happily said they'd make it just for us.
So today, we came back — and had two portions of fried calamari and two of the stuffed version. Both were outstanding— the best we’ve had in Corfu, hands down. The owner and the waiter (also an older gentleman) were incredibly warm, attentive, and professional throughout our visit.
At the end of the meal, they surprised us with two large plates of fresh watermelon. The taverna was empty both times we came, which is heartbreaking, because the food, the service, the atmosphere (even the music) are all wonderfully traditional and authentic.
