Warm welcome and spectacular grilled lamb chops! Perfect greek tavern food. We arrived on a lonely weekday evening during the pandemic. We were a bit worried that we would inconvenience the owners since the only other table was finishing up. We were welcomed with great food, friendly service, and some of the best lamb chops I have ever had. We had drinks and dinner here for nights stay in Mystras. Run by a lovely couple and a true family feel. The service was impeccable with a great atmosphere and the food was amazing , my wife had the steak some of the best she has ever had (melt in your mouth), being from Australia this is a big claim but true, I had lamb chops that reminded me of those my grandmother use to cook, full of flavour crisp on the outside but lovely and moist so not over cooked as some do. Home made , delicious food !! We love places like this - authentic, unapologetic, broken English but lots of love and delicious food ! The dishes are simple focusing on the flavour - we had selections of starters : tzatziki , baked feta , zucchini chips , meatballs in tomato sauce and absolutely delicious grilled lamb chops It was a rainy evening so the taverna was empty but within 30min people started gathering , the atmosphere’s welcoming and friendly and the cake at the end !!!
