If you’re looking for a truly magical dining experience by the sea, Allou Yialou at Kini Beach, Syros, is the place to be. Nestled right on the Cycladic coastline, this gem of a restaurant offers breathtaking views, with the waves gently lapping against the walls as you dine. You genuinely couldn’t get closer to the sea.

We visited for lunch as two families – a table of eight, including children – and were blown away. The food was nothing short of exquisite: beautifully fresh, inventive, and a feast for the eyes as much as the taste buds. The dishes showcased the best of local ingredients with creative flair, and the reasonable pricing made it even more appealing.

While we enjoyed the stunning meal, the children had the time of their lives. After the food was gone, they played in the clear, inviting waters just steps from our table, while we relaxed and watched. The connection between the restaurant and its idyllic setting is something truly special.

The drinks menu was equally impressive, offering a fantastic variety to suit all tastes. The kids loved their meals just as much as we did – no small feat!

We loved it so much that we returned the very next day for dinner, and once again, Allou Yialou did not disappoint. From start to finish, the food, service, and atmosphere were exceptional.

If you’re visiting Syros, this is an absolute must. The combination of outstanding food, friendly service, and a setting that dreams are made of makes Allou Yialou a truly magnificent place.

So this is hands down the best fish restaurant on the island. Everything we tried was cooked perfectly and the flavor combinations were perfect. We tried the shrimp saganaki with ouzo crème (omg that was divine, I can’t even describe how perfect that was without crying) crab tartar (oh wow that was so refreshing and delicious, my entire wine taste changed after this excellence), fish tartar was also divine. The fish was also fresh and prepared in front of us (they took out the bones).

What really lacked was the service. Even though they were fast in bringing the dishes. The waitress that took our order was not professional and kinda frowned when we asked for two separate bills. We asked 3 times to bring us a glass of wine, ouzo and a bottle of water and they never brought it to us. We wanted to take dessert and didn’t due to that…

Overall the food is the best on the island but they need some serious service upgrade. Our bill was about 240 euros for a 1kg fresh fish A’ Quality, 2 bottles of wine, 6 appetizers (the most expensive ones as well) and a bottle of water. It’s pretty fair price wise.
