O Mitsos — Restaurant in Municipality of Syros and Ermoupoli

If they hadn’t of lied to us I’m sure it would have been a lovely experience. However, my husband I showed up at 6:30pm (early for dinner in Greece with plans to beat the 8pm dinner rush/ reservations) and they told us they were closed because….. get this “the vacuum was broken” LOL meanwhile as they told us they were closed they were fully staffed and putting the finishing touches on all the tables, being fully set up. I didn’t believe them for a second so we had a beautiful dinner two minutes away with an even better view at the highly recommended restaurant - Empaté with even better service! Naturally we had to drive by after our dinner just to see that in YES in fact they were open with plenty of people seated! It would have been easier to just say they were fully booked for the evening to which we would have understood, or say to come back later if there was an actual issue, but the way the staff continued preparing while they told us they were closed was so odd and unnecessary… Obviously, we do not recommend giving this restaurant...

What a restaurant for meat lovers!

On the west side of syros you cannot find a better view to the aegean!

Food is excellent and the restaurant itself also very very nice without being too much.

Clear recommendation.

Only one downside is the parking, be prepared to park at 10% angle.

Edit after our second visit: food stays very good. We had though a negative experience with the service. Firstly the waitress was aggressive after I asked if our steak was forgotten. Then she aggressively responded to us that we never ordered and we were confused when we were ordering as two dishes weren't available. Secondly the manager complained that we should control our kids (2 years old) as both mothers of the table were going for a walk through the tables holding the children's hands. Not very family friendly...

O Mitsos has one of the best views in the whole island. Really it is breathtaking to eat up there and enjoy the magnificent view. The only problem is when the wind blows, you might need to take something light to wear. The catalogue offers a wide variety of freshly cooked meals and on his specialty, meat. The meat balls were excellent, the ribs very tastefull. The only thing that i noticed is the medium to small portions per plate. We were satisfied by our lunch but there was still room for something more. The service is not so polite, phone is answered if someone is close to it and picks it up and the attitude is "we know we have the view, we are famous for the food so bare with us or if you don't want we have plenty more that queue to sit".
