Honestly, terrible. Don't ruin your experience of Ano Syros.

I am the archetypal reviewer only sharing bad experiences, primarily because our experiences in all of Greece are excellent. This, however, broke the mould. Terrible service. The waiter was not only rude, he was aggressive. Initially, We were told we couldn't order as the "system was down", with no other option but to sit and wait it appeared. We requested to order drinks while we waited 10minutes for the system to revive, which was agreed. This could have been handled better, a mere language barrier. No harm caused. We ordered our bottle of wine, which we were told we couldn't have as they only served it by the glass. When explained, it was only available by the bottle, so we could have it. A "tut" followed the conversation, which was strange at best, rude more accurately. Now we were left shocked by the waiters manner, but not appalled. We ordered our dishes when the system was back. It arrived promptly, maybe too promptly, but who complains about prompt service? not us. The food was poor. Poor cuts of meat isolated to one dish, small portion size. We complained about our dish and were told we were wrong, it was delicious. Sorry, it wasn't. Then we had a long wait for the bill we requested, which was to omit one of the dishes, which wasn't satisfactory. They refused this request.

I can not express how much we love Greece, the Greek culture, and Greek food. This restaurant would never be enough to put us off that, but I would recommend you look elsewhere if you are seeking a nice meal in a relaxed environment. The views can not be disputed. I didn’t read the reviews before going to this restaurant, sadly. As soon as we were seated we immediately felt a weird vibe! We were approached by the manager/ head waiter who walked up to our table and said with a sour face “Need bread”? We were taken aback and responded by saying yes. It was brought without butter or olive oil. When we asked for either it was met with a “hmmm I don’t think so but will check”! He returned with Olive oil and emphatically said “ no butter”!

We were served a mediocre meal at best! We could sense tension between the head waiter and the other staff! The head waiter treated everyone the same! There was no welcoming vibe! We found it so very odd as all experiences up to now were amazing! We talked about how kind and welcoming people are in Greece! This experience was appalling! We then witnessed the head waiter being physically aggressive with another waiter in front of many customers seated at tables all around. It kept getting worse! When we asked for the bill the head waiter came to our table! I called him out on his rudeness and aggression towards the other waiter! In an aggressive manner he told that I didn’t understand the language! My response was that language had nothing to do with it! No matter what language aggressive behaviour and abuse is the same! He raised his voice at me and talked over me screaming that I didn’t understand! Oh my please avoid this place at all costs! It boasts a great view but many other restaurants have a similar view! This place should not be supported! Terrible experience and sets such a bad example for your visit...

Restaurant has a great terrace with wonderful views. The service is a peinlich. Very slow, uncoordinated and a few Walters very unfriendly. The manager or owner had no overview and was lost with a full restaurant. We asked about some dishes and got unfriendly descriptions. I ordered a salad and roasted eggplant in a pot which was very nice. Salads are widly overpriced for what you get. We ordered lamb chops. They were not only unusual fine cutted but with a lot of fat and less meat. When asking for Mayonnaise for the french fries a waiter lectured quite unfriendly that the restaurants cuisine do not uses Mayonnaise or Ketchup for the dishes. Fine with us, the communication was very angry and I did not see a reason for this. We waited 30 Minuten for the table to be cleaned and more even for the payment procedure. It seems that the staff is not trained well, the manager has no control and they prefer greek guests over international guests.
