We loved this spot, the food and its people!
Would recommend everyone that goes to santorini and that likes fish to come here. We were looking for a spot with owners that still really had a passion about their food, because we felt like a lot of the restaurants missed that. This place is being run by a family and has been a long time if you see the pictures on the wall. The people are the sweetest ever and we loved how attentive they were, they even came to do a drink with us and gave us some refreshing watermelon after. The restaurant itself is also very cute and had a homey feel. Also good to note: its not expensive at all, we went all out with the food and drinks and didnt even reach 20 euro per person.
And the fish, I cant even begin to explain how tasty it was!!!! The fish was amazing. We wanted to know their opinion about what was good and fresh. The owners told us what had been caught that day and the days before to give an idea. It had not been the best weather to fish so there wasn't any big fish at the moment. They really care about the fish being fresh and tasty and they catch everything themselfs, which is amazing so we didn't mind the lack of the big fish. We told her to just give us a mix of whatever she and her family would think was good and we got a glorious platter that was filled with 7 kinds fish, some bread and fries and some tzatziki and it was amazing! I still want to know how they get their octopus so soft and not chewy at al.
I am in love with this place and its people and we will be coming back this...

Our hotel manager, Chrysa, recommended this local fisherman’s taverna, and what a pleasant surprise it was to find such an authentic and local spot. I was delighted to meet Mr. Vagellis, the owner and fisherman, who serves truly authentic and generous dishes.
I had my “mandatory” Greek salad, grilled feta cheese (served spicy 🌶️ , by the way), and their famous tomato balls (tomato beignets)- and let me tell you, they truly deserve their fame; they were absolutely delicious. The fish was fresh and tasty, and every dish was generously portioned.
The value for fresh, local food is excellent. As a bonus, I had the privilege of watching Mr. Vagellis prepare his fishing materials and traps for his next trip - he was heading out to fish at 3 a.m. the following day.
I’ve added photos of the menu, our dishes, and even one of the owner preparing his traps. Highly recommended for an authentic...
Read moreI always try to leave a fair review where its warranted. Take note that there's another taverna with a similar name in Kamari, and I wonder if all the good reviews here were intended for that taverna instead. Anyway.
A fish restaurant with no fish, how does that work. ? We asked for about 4 different dishes, (big beans, rabbit stifado, sea bream) none of which they had. After listening to other potential customers, it appears that they had no fish at all, the lady suggested those customers come back tomorrow. So we ended up with a pork chop which was as tough as old boots. The place had no atmosphere, and the waiter appeared disinterested in serving. He looked fed up to be honest... "hear we go... another customer." I've no idea who gave all the positive reviews, this certainly wasn't in keeping with my experience. Also, I don't mind the cats, but I don't want them jumping in my lap whilst I'm trying to eat said boot. I...
