We had THE WORST dinner here we have ever had in Greece in our lives. Warning straight away, if you're in Panormos bay, don't come here!!!! Go to "To Limanaki" instead, we ate there twice, the food was delicious and we were always welcomed in a friendly way. We only tried "Maḯstros" on 04/10/2023 to give another restaurant in the bay a chance and were the only guests there at around 6pm. We ordered fava - it tasted absolutely horrible, somehow like frozen and reheated, with huge chunks of raw onion all around it. The fried cheese was too salty and dripping in grease, we have tried much better ones on the island. The boiled green amaranth was absolutely disgusting, don't know if it tastes better in other places. We don't know how you can manage to badly prepare grilled sardines but this was the case here. Dripping in oil and they simply didn't taste good or fresh. The service was extremely unfriendly, we came by the night before (on 03/10/2023) at 8pm (4h before their indicated closing time on Google Maps, which is written as midnight), asking whether we could have dinner. We were greeted with an annoyed face, pretty much a facial expression that we would force them to serve food. We proposed to come back the next day but were greeted in the same way... Being the only customers, we were sitting there for ages with our empty plates in front of us after we finished, while the waitress was sitting at a table behind us and smoking... This restaurant is an absolute joke. We instantly felt how bad the food was, having discomfort in the stomach right...
Read moreWe visited the tavern on August 21st 2020, a party of three people. We really liked the picturesque small port and the place came recommended from some of our friends. Alas, we were disappointed. The food was mediocre at best. Luckily the staff were helpful and professional. We got: Melted cheese with zucchini: A very interesting idea that unfortunately did not work on the plate Salad with parmesan cheese and balsamic vinegar: arguably the best dish on the table Onion "keftedes": Another good idea that lacked proper execution as it left a very bitter aftertaste in the mouth Boiled stingray with lemon sauce: Blunt and nothing memorable Stuffed calamari: Frozen and blunt as well Fresh sardines on the grill: These were nice due to the freshness of the sardine Seafood pasta: All seafood added was frozen. It tasted ok because of all the curcuma involved in the cooking. It makes me sad that such a nice location is wasted by food that is mediocre at best....
Read moreGreat seafood, perfect position, great staff. Wonderful position overlooking the bay at sea level. Maestros is a clean and modern restaurant with hotel style bathrooms. We had fava dip, boiled greens, Greek salad, fried squid, stuffed squid, gavros (small fried fish) and sardines. More than enough for 4 especially with the delicious complimentary cheesecake, followed by an excellent espresso. The four waitresses/waiter were excellent with good spoken English as well as a sense of humour. An first class lunch in this idyllic spot is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. We followed lunch with a swim in the clear waters of the Aegean. The stuff dreams are made of. We are going back there. Went back again yesterday. Food and service excellent. The fish and squid were so fresh. Don’t miss this...
