Riki - Mediterranean Cuisine — Restaurant in Municipality of Trifylia

Ok first let's talk about the view at sunset...almost perfect. You will not see the sun plunging in the water because there is in front the Proti island but still is worth it 100%. Location is nice and even inside you can see that the owner tried to add some more modern furniture to the usual greek taverna style. This is reflected also on the menu and how the food is presented. Some touch of "urban fusion" contamination that make the visual and taste experience a little bit different from the other taverns. Still price is completely in line with the majority of these type of greek restaurants so no bad surprises at the end. The food (vegetables and fish especially) is fresh and portions well balanced. Shrimps are normally frozen but they do not hide that. If you take linguini with shrimps do not expect it done the italian way. Pasta was a little bit overcooked and no tomato sauce but instead fresh vegetables. Like in many taverns also here the dessert selection is poor but we were offered for free a glass of fresh yogurth with a simple crumble top that ended well the dinner experience. Great atmosphere however sadly much changes occurred the last years... You will get no receipt if you don't ask for it. You have to pay 4€ every time for only 2 slices of bread (1 slice per person) and one bottle of water. These 4€ do not exist in any menu list. There is no analytical invoice so you will never get to know what you pay for unless someone can explain to you orally of course. And lastly from my personal experience they overcharged me both times and when I tried to complain the 2nd time they made me show them the calculation from my phone 2 times insisting that there is no mistake and eventually they tried to cover it claiming that they thought we were having an extra bottle of water. It's a pity to see the quality of service falling in such low levels sacrificing loyal customers only for the sake of earning more money. Not worth to visit...try the other taverns around which are more decent and definitely...

We were waiting a dish over an hour and when we ask what is going on the manager said that it was never written. He said just sorry asked if we want eventually the dish to be prepared, wish we denied of course. After a while we asked for the bill. The bill never came to our table and after a long time waiting we needed to go directly to the manager to settle it. They didn't even offered something as apology. Very disappointed from the behavior even though the location is fantastic and I'm a regular guest.The area definetly has lots of other options to dine for breakfast or dinner with lower prices as well.
