Babis Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Troizinia - Methana

Disappointing!!! Though the Tavern is in a very nice place by the sea everything else is really bad. We went for dinner. The first thing I noticed was the dirty catalogues and also the salt and pepper. The waiter came to take order and the problems started. First I couldn't understand what his was saying since he seemed so bored that he could barely talk. Most of the dishes we wanted to order were not available. Anyway we ordered and waited. After a while a lady came to inform us that 2 more dishes of what we ordered were not available too. To tell you the truth I thought that maybe I should go but since it was already late to search for other restaurant I decided to stay and not ruin my good mood. The salad and zucchini balls we ordered arrived about 30 min later. They weren't any napkins on the table so I had to ask for some. They brought them 20 min later. We had fried calamari which I am not sure if it tasted calamari shrimp or fish since, as I understood, they fried them in the same oil with all the seafood. When we finished eating they brought us the grilled octopus that we had ordered. Above all that the octopus was awfull. It tasted bad and it was like rubber. We didn't eat it of course. I won't say anything about the prices cause for me they should pay you to eat. I didn't take any pictures...

With 7 persons at the table and the tavern 75% empty, we were charged for bread and water we hadn't ordered at Mykonos prices. We were charged €2.50 for 200 ml of olive oil that we did order. White wine we ordered was lukewarm, had to ask several times for ice. We ordered fish and seafood, asked for some starters, got a tiny cup of the worst olives we ever had in Greece and got charged €2.50 for them. The service was extremely slow. After the main course - the portions were rather small - we got a very small plate of watermelon on the house. They never served us any mastika they claim in their comment below, it just proves they have no clue what they are doing whatsoever. Massive disappointment, especially that this place was recommended by a mutual friend (they knew about it in advance). We got only the handwritten receipt from them, which is against the Greek law and it proves they cheat on taxes. We go to good restaurants and taverns all over Greece and we can afford that, because we never let those that offer poor service...

They do not deserve any customers. 0/5 Hello dear citizens and fellow travelers. I am leaving this review to spear you from the disappointment. Just do not spend your time and hard worked monay in this tavern. The food is mediocre and you can find something better. The view is not worth the terrible service.

We arrived at a busy time OK. But we had to wait for an 1 hour for starters that are preped and cold, a salad and 1 main. I see no excuse for that kind of a delay and I did not get one either.

The owner did not even have the curtsey to give a discount or even apologise, the least, they costs nothing. No she hid behind a server that had nothing to do with the type of service we got.

P. S. 1.I do speak Greek but I hope in English I will reach people from every background. 2.The overall feeling was that the opened a week before and did not care for the kind of service they offer. All she was willing to do is to offer a terrible smile and think...
