I have not tried every restaurant in Kitries but I am confident that this is one of the best. As the name suggests, it is situated on top of a hill offering beautiful views of the sea and the surrounding area. Even at night, the port of Kalamata and the surrounding mountains are pleasant to look at. The food is more imaginative and more carefully prepared than in the average Greek taverna in the area. This is no accident, since the owners raise their own animals and cultivate vegetables, olives, and olive oil. I highly recommend the stuffed peppers (kerato) with cheese and bacon, the pasto (smoked port), the mousaka, the paidakia, and the pork in the oven.
