Fantastic food, great view, fair prices, and super friendly service.

We stayed in Sigri for 2 weeks, and Plaza really ended up becoming our go to restaurant. We dined there at least ones a day, for the whole stay.

The restaurant is located right at the beach, the view of the bay and island is beautiful, and there was almost always a light wind, nice when the temperature was 27 Celsius or warmer all the time.

It’s clearly a restaurant a lot of the local population attended, that’s says a lot, by itself, I would say. In the weekends it’s really full and there are always a lot of people(but they always managed to find space for us, even if they had to go and bring more tables and chairs). It also add to the coziness.

All the Greek food we got was good and most was excellent. They got some tasty beers from Sigri’s own brewery. The Greek coffee was really great, as well.

The service was almost always really fast, except when the dish was something that had to take time to prepare.

There are some negatives, and for me they would be:

  1. Don’t buy the France fries, or you will get disappointed.

  2. The bread was kind of boring, but that seems to be the same over most of the area.

  3. There are a lot of smokers, but that is bound to happen when there are a lot of locals. It reminds me of the 80-90’s back in Denmark, and that’s not a good thing. But as we were always outside it wasn’t too bad. But we didn’t try to be a bit strategical regarding where we would sit.

  4. There are no locks on the WC doors. That seems to be a cultural thing and is a sign it’s not a tourist restaurant. If the door is closed you do not go in. But as a Dane I always close the door after me when leaving, without thinking about it. I bet some people have been waiting for no one. The teens didn’t really like that too much, but they managed.

  5. I would personally not buy the pasta dishes, but keep it Greek. The kids did try them. They are not what you would expect. But you can ask for one with both ground beef and tomato sauce, maybe cheese as well. Then you will get something like spaghetti bolognese.

  6. They run out of dishes. They for the mainly use fresh seafood from the local fishing boats. That’s a positive for the most parts. But as we had some days with continuous strong wind, the fishermen couldn’t sail out, resulting in limited choices.

But those negatives are by far outweighed by all the positives.

The service from the front of the house, combined with the great quality of he food, and the decent prices make it easy for me to give them the maximum rating, I would even go above if it was possible. As the staff did more than ones for us.

You don’t go more than twenty times, to the same restaurant, in two weeks, if it isn’t great in almost every way.

We were sad when we had the last meal on Plaza, as we were sad that we had to leave Sigri, the pearl of Lesvos. A charming, cosy, and relaxing small city with a lot of friendly local people, no matter where you go.

We will surely be back to Sigri and Plaza...

We have been here very many times in September 2021 but I forgot to write a review! This restaurant is great! Everything we ate here was tasty, plenty of choice even at the end of September and all at good prices! The restaurant crew was always friendly and attentive! Already on our second visit we were treated like regulars! When we walked past the restaurant during the day, we were greeted and waved to. And even if we came later (if you want to photograph the sunset on the beach and then have to hike back, it can be later, but hey, I'm on vacation after all!) it was no problem at all! So everything was great and definitely worth 5 stars! Thank you and...

Nice location but the food was not so nice. The pasta was cold and I don’t mean room temperature. It was served straight from the refrigerator . The musaka was frozen in the middle . The waitress offered to reheat them but we declined. When I confronted the owner / chef he was full of excuses rather than offer an apology . There were 8 people at out table and everyone of us was disappointed at the service and the quality of the food. Some of us left hungry and went to an other restaurant . Not a very nice...

I'm so glad that I discovered this lovely little taverna. Plaza became my 'go to' place during my stay in Sigri. The best part of dining at Plaza was the wonderful hospitality from Giota and the amazing food cooked by Eleni. As a solo female traveller I was made to feel very welcome and at home which is very important to me. The location is great and absolutely the best place to watch the sunset. Thank you for making me feel so at home! ❤️

The staff seemed nice. The food I ordered wasn’t very tasty but was definitely full of fat (as it was fried) Although the waitress kind of explained what the dishes were, I was a bit surprised and disappointed. Even cappuccino fredo was strange in taste and served in a strange thin glass. The view was lovely but I wouldn’t dine there again. The dog made strange loud noises which was disturbing.
