This place was fantastic! A true jewel.

Atmosphere:

Beachy, airy and relaxed. Lots of shade if you need a break from the sun and magnificent view of the sparkling water. If I remember correctly I think there are a few tables in the sun as well if that's your preference.

Greeting:

Pleasant, friendly and relaxed with a smile, motioning to choose our own table.

Date and time of day:

Sept 23rd (and 24th - yes, we returned the next day because we enjoyed it so much) for lunch on both visits.

Food and drink:

We both had local beer on the first day (can't remember the name). On the second day I had the same beer and my wife had a cocktail (can't remember which one). The local beer was great but the cocktail was the only thing we didn't care for. On the first visit we had a greek salad and the kafta kebab. The greek salad was great and typical of what you'd see at other places with large pieces of peppers, cucumbers and tomatoes topped with delicious pieces of feta and tossed in olive oil. Always a winner! But out of all the places we've been so far the kafta kebab was the best thing we've had! Everything about it was absolutely delicious. Very, very good meal and highly recommend. The second day we had the beet root salad and the grilled octopus. Everything was outstanding and you could tell everything was made meticulously. The only change I would make is maybe not ordering the octopus and beet salad on the same visit as the portion sizes are very large. So be sure to bring your appetite.

Service:

We had excellent service on both visits. On the first visit Anthony served us and the second day we had Lorenzo serve us. Both were very personable and went out of their way to make sure we had a pleasant experience. Anthony had some great recommendations for places to visit that were off the beaten path. We visited both places he recommended the next day and had a great time. Lorenzo had some great suggestions about other islands to see on future visits to Greece. Both Anthony and Lorenzo were pleasant, relaxed and informative which added to a great overall experience.

Price:

Prices were reasonable. The kafta I think was either 13.50 or 14.50 (sorry don't remember that one exactly). The beet salad was 8.50. Greek salad was 7.00. Grilled octopus 17.50. The beer was 4.50 (500ml). The only thing I thought was overpriced was the cocktail which I think was 12(?).

Overall:

Everything was excellent for all of the above reasons! Would we go back? Absolutely!...

This review is a little late- we were here over 2 months ago, but we enjoyed the food so much that I have to write abt it ! We spent almost a good 4 hrs in the beach here on a beautiful morning (we rented one of their beach chairs) and because we had young kids and they were hungry ( and there were not that many food / restaurant options in the immediate vicinity) we decided to eat at the restaurant here. Mind you, honestly, we did not 'expect' too much when we sat down n ordered, but we were happy to note that they had vegetarian options. However, we were really pleasantly surprised by the taste and quality of the food - the tomato based spaghetti that my kids literally ''inhaled down'' was hands down one of the best tasting basic pastas that I have actually had! ( I know right.. such a simple basic sauce , but yet not that many people or restaurants get it right and this was delicious and certainly memorable !!). The watermelon salad was very fresh , and the veg burger we had was also very tasty along with the nice potato salad. We enjoyed the cocktails too ( I fondly remember the one with gin and cucumber ). Overall, such good , memorable food, drinks and service that caught us by pleasant surprise during our holiday in this beautiful...

Update: (the owner’s response to my review only shows how unbelievably unprofessional and dishonest he is. As visiting Americans from San Francisco, the prices at your establishment were never the issue—it was your complete lack of any decency and professionalism that made us immediately want to leave.)

Horrible service. We had literally just sat down, when the “owner” came over to us slurring his words like he was drunk, demanding money for the umbrella. Not wearing a uniform, we were unsure if he was actually an employee, and we asked for someone in uniform to help us. He started yelling at us in front of everyone, saying why didn’t we want to talk to him?!?! We wanted to know if by buying cocktails it would waive the umbrella fee (similar to the beach we went to yesterday), and then he started yelling again about giving us the best deal he could. The whole experience was very unpleasant, and so we decided to leave. He then made a huge scene about us “making a mess” (we had moved one chair closer to the shade). Totally unprofessional and a joke of a...

The beach bar itself is mediocre to bad. They try to scam you by charging you 50€ to sit on some raggedy sunbeds and 100€ for the front row sunbeds whose only difference is that they're cushioned. The food is all about low quality snacks and stiff drinks without having anything authentic or traditional in particular. Additionally, I shall mention that I visited on a very windy day (approx. 9-10 beaufort) and the staff wasn't available at all to help (e.g. providing clips to secure towels on the sun beds or looking after personal belongings that are blown away), and in combination with the sand being lifted from the ground it made the whole experience uncomfortable and even dangerous. At least the beach was fascinating in terms of natural beauty, hence the 2 stars I'm giving.

Our dune buggy rental broke down and we discovered On the Rocks in Paros while waiting for help. George/Yorgo (sp?) is a great host. We ended up going back after we swapped our buggy out and hung out for hours. Killer beach front cove w/ lounge chairs and umbrellas. He was very friendly and when we mentioned it was our anniversary vacation he gave us complimentary shots. Also makes some great cocktails. Ended up trying his restaurant above the beach hangout out and had some awesome grilled octopus with fave bean purée, seemed like a hummus type of dish. Can’t recommend the place and ownership enough. He’s a New York transplant of Greek heritage - solid guy- Thanks Again Yorgo!

We’ve been at Paros now for 4 days, we’ve visited antiparos, Naoussa town, Leftkes, and many other places and our heart keeps taking us back to this lunch. First, George the bartender/owner took exceptional care of us. We came only for pictures but then stayed for cocktails and even shots with George. We took his recommendations and had lunch at the restaurant. The service was beyond amazing and the food, exceptional. THE SEABASS CEVICHE WAS THE BEST IVE EVER HAD! we are from Miami and live for Peruvian ceviche and let me tell you, I think this may beat it. The fresh fish was also beyond exceptional. I can’t recommend this experience enough.
