What an arrogant & rude management and restaurant!
Me and my wife had a reservation for dinner 2 nights ago, on August 19th Monday. We reserved our table for 8 pm. We went to the taxi station at Scala town center @7:40 pm amd started waiting for the taxi. There was a long line in front of us. I called the restaurant @8:20 pm telling them we are on our way waiting in the taxi line for 40 minutes but there was no taxis coming. The lady who answered the phone said they gave the table to someone else and we can wait for sometime for the table when we arrive and I said ok and we continued waiting for the taxi. The taxi arrived and at last it was our turn @8:45 pm. We arrived at the restaurant @8:58 pm and the unprofessional and rude approach from the bald & old guy whom later I understood is the manager has just started. He said there is no space and table available for us for that night. I told him that we can wait for some time until a table becomes available but he said no. I kept telling him the story but he was not even listening and saying the same sentences over and over. If you have told me that there will be no table for us when we come, we would NOT wait for another half an hour at the taxi station, climb up that hill to the top and pay the taxi going up and down and lose our precious time! We had our dinner and finished the night back in Scala town @To Tsipouradiko Mas with very delicious food and very good hospitality. They definitely know how to approach their guests. The hospitality and wellcoming the guest starts with the reservation call and lasts until the guest leaves the house. Vaggelis smashed up every detail that belongs to the term “Hospitality”. From now on, you are a big disgrace in the greek restaurant...
Read moreWe recently dined at Vaggelis Restaurant and had a disappointing experience. We ordered a specific local wine, but the waiter brought a cheaper one without us realizing it initially. The taste was nothing special, and after a glass, we asked for the wine menu, checked it and confirmed it was not what we ordered. The waiter apologized and brought the correct wine, assuring us we would be charged for the cheaper one. However, when the check came, we were charged for the expensive wine. After pointing this out, the waiter corrected it.
It's unacceptable for a restaurant to bring a much cheaper wine and simply say, "I'm sorry, my mistake."
Additionally, although we didn't order bread, they brought six slices and charged us 8 euros. Be careful about the wine they bring and check your bill carefully. The prices are very high for the quality of the food, making it an overrated touristic place.
Regarding the provided response, the label was not shown to us. We did not request the cheaper wine to be charged; the waiter offered it as an apology. However, when we received the bill, the discount was not applied. We notified the waiter, and it was subsequently corrected, as I mentioned earlier. The key point here is to advise customers to carefully check the wine they order when it arrives at the table and to alert the restaurant about this...
Read moreWe booked a table at this amazing restaurant after many local people recommendations. They were completely right about everything. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner and then placed on the table. Immediately water and the menus arrived. We've let the waiter know that one of us was vegetarian and he sat there for at least a good 5 minutes to answer all our questions and he tried to give us all the best options for our friend. Food was impeccable, service was flawless ( although very busy at the time we arrived). Their pavlova is the best way to close our dinner. The prices may be a bit on the higher end but once the plates arrive you understand why. One of the best experiences we had on a...
