I recently had the pleasure of dining at gkiafis, and I must say, it was an amazing experience. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with comfortable seating and a cozy ambiance.

Genuine people, cooking REAL food. The BEST goat meat! I couldn't use cutlery...it was THAT good. I'm from rural Wales. These people know their animals and their meat. It's a family affair, the parents cook and they're adult children serve. They arrive and tell you what they have. There's no menu. When you order what sounds good, they smile, a knowing smile, everyone knows its good. There's a shared, silent love of food here. Something unspoken, a look, a nod. Service is quick, efficient, and very polite. It's clean. They all know what they're doing. The best food I've had here in Kephalonia, yet, and the best service. Kephalonian meat pie was awesome. You'll need a good lie down afterwards. All I want to do is to bring back the people I love to sit in the evening sunshine, with a light wind rising from the coast, and suck on goat bones, lick my fingers and wash it all down with a local dry white. No menu, no pricing so expect a highly inflated bill at the end. We stopped after having a drive though the back roads near Sami. We asked for a menu only to be told there was no menu but he would tell us what they had. We ordered a Greek salad, tzatziki and two orders of fries along with 4 lemonades (Fanta lemon). This came to €38 with a purposely vague bill (all lines marked products rather than item name).

The Greek salad didn't include olives and was far from the freshest we've had in the area. The fries where obvious from a frozen packet. We had to ask for cutlery, but were given a basket of fresh bread along with it. Apart from the bread I'd be shocked if the rest of the produce was any more local than the local supermarket.
