I recently had the pleasure of dining at gkiafis, and I must say, it was an amazing experience. The restaurant is situated in a beautiful location, with stunning views of the surrounding landscape. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, with comfortable seating and a cozy ambiance.
But let's get to the real reason we're here: the food. And boy, was it delicious! The menu offers a great selection of dishes, from classic Greek specialties to more contemporary options. The portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food.
The service at gkiafis was also top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always ready to offer recommendations and answer any questions we had. They were knowledgeable about the menu and wine list, and they made sure our dining experience was truly unforgettable.
Overall, I highly recommend gkiafis to anyone visiting Kefalonia. Whether you're looking for a romantic dinner or a casual night out with friends, this restaurant has something for everyone. The food, service, and atmosphere are all exceptional, and I can't...

It's a family affair, the parents cook and they're adult children serve. They arrive and tell you what they have. There's no menu. When you order what sounds good, they smile, a knowing smile, everyone knows its good. There's a shared, silent love of food here. Something unspoken, a look, a nod. Service is quick, efficient, and very polite. It's clean. They all know what they're doing. The best food I've had here in Kephalonia, yet, and the best service. Kephalonian meat pie was awesome. You'll need a good lie down afterwards. All I want to do is to bring back the people I love to sit in the evening sunshine, with a light wind rising from the coast, and suck on goat bones, lick my fingers and wash it all down with a local dry white. This IS it. Look no further. But don't...
Read moreNo menu, no pricing so expect a highly inflated bill at the end. We stopped after having a drive though the back roads near Sami. We asked for a menu only to be told there was no menu but he would tell us what they had. We ordered a Greek salad, tzatziki and two orders of fries along with 4 lemonades (Fanta lemon). This came to €38 with a purposely vague bill (all lines marked products rather than item name).
The Greek salad didn't include olives and was far from the freshest we've had in the area. The fries where obvious from a frozen packet. We had to ask for cutlery, but were given a basket of fresh bread along with it. Apart from the bread I'd be shocked if the rest of the produce was any more local than the local supermarket. Big disappointment especially considering how fresh the food at other restaurants/taverns in the area are. Other tables appeared to be shocked with their...
