We found out about this taverna from a flyer that says they have live music and dance show every Friday, with plates smashing and dancing on fire; tempted by this description, we called and made a reservation. When we arrived, we were told that that evening, the food was buffet style, costing 15euro per person and that you can not order from the menu... The food consisted of beans, baked potatoes, grilled chicken, some small fish, pasta with parsley (no taste), rice with some meat, tzatziki, raw salad, tomato and cucumber salad and a cake at the end. For souvlaki we paid an extra 1 euro for a small one, price we were told only after souvlaki being put on the plate (we were thinking that this is included in the buffet, of course). We were brought a carafe of water (which we did not ask for and asking the waiter, he told us that it does not cost, it is from the house); after this, we were asked what we want to drink (without providing any menu or any prices) and we chose half a litre of roze house wine. The food, wine, live music were ok, then there were 3 dancers who danced about half an hour, everything was ordinary. After that, the plates were brought to be broken, but only to the tables with many people (discrimination). At the end, when we asked for the bill, the owner simply wrote it with the pen on the table, without any invoice (tax evasion?), putting, besides 30euros the food and 6euros the wine, also 5 euros for music and show (which was not written on the flyer and was not told from the beginning), and carafe of water on the table (which we were told in advance that does not cost anything - after all, it was just tap water). No menu given in order to check the prices, no receipt, just a...
Read moreWonderful. This is how we felt in this place. Very nice place to stop by for a cold glass of good wine or a juicy oven cooked piece of meat. We tried the goat and the beef. Excellently cooked. Also tried a greek salad wich turned to be very tasty, also. The ingredients were very fresh, especially the tomatos. The deserts were on the house: pancakes and greek baclava. I liked the pancakes more😉. They had a divine caramel sauce. The wine is very, very good. The Merlot and also the sweet red one. I think the sweet red is the best i've tried so far. Many thanks to thd owner, Mr. Christos. He's so friendly and welcoming. He accompanied us in the winecellar, a small museum with lots of wine related old stuff. The service was very prompt. So this is somethig to do more than once, and i' m sure the next time will be at least as nice as this time. For a unique and traditional experience i recommend this place. PS: For all the fast food lovers out there please find another place to eat. They don t have french fries,...
Read moreThe tavern is located in Kelari village and it has a great view of nearby mountains. The village is small and it is a great place for recharge your batteries. The tavern is big and it does have also a wine cellar and a museum. We made a reservation in advance but it wasn’t necessarily at all as we were the only customers. We ordered different salads and aperitifs and the main course we have ordered lamb and goat, beef meatballs and French fries potatoes. We drink some local wine dry rose wine and red sweet wine for the girls. As a desert we were served with yogurt with nuts, honey and nuts jam syrup. The experience was nice and good to be visited for the view but also for the food. Be aware that the the food menu is not so diverse 👍 so it is highly recommended to make a reservation and order in advance the...
