From the get go, I will confess I did not eat there. :) We were eating next door at Andreas. Our kids kept going to Palio Klisma as they had some kittens walking around the terrace. There was a fishing rod that the kids were intrigued about. The fisherman told me it's ok for the kids to be nearby.
Then we started talking, and turned out he is the owner of the restaurant, a family business since 1936. We spoke in German, as he was in Germany for a long time. Very kind person, so I expect the quality of the service is somehow build around that. We spoke for more that 30 minutes, I think. He gave me to taste some traditional drinks. All in all, my wife had to tell me we plan to leave to put the kids to be bed, that is how immersed I got into talking. :)
The location looks great. Just imagine having your dinner at sunset at a table right on the beach. I saw some reviews saying they use frozen food for some of the menu items. I learned this can happen everywhere in Greece where you have a standardized menus. Just say your expectations upfront, and you'll know...
Read moreThe restaurant itself isn’t bad – the food was tasty and the portion sizes were generous. The menu offers a decent variety and the quality of the dishes was above average for the area.
Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired. Some of the waiters don’t speak English, which caused a misunderstanding – we asked to have our leftover food packed to go, but they didn’t understand and ended up throwing it away without any apology. That definitely soured the experience.
Another big downside was the cleanliness around the beachside tables. On the inner side of the deck area, there were multiple spots with cat feces. One of the waiters even stepped in it several times and didn’t seem to notice or care. This was quite off-putting and showed a lack of attention to hygiene.
Prices are on the higher side, especially considering the location and the level of service.
If you’re mainly looking for tasty food and can overlook some communication issues and hygiene concerns, you might...
Read moreA fantastic tavern at the edge of the sea! Delicious fresh fish and sea food, meat is also very tasty, friendly and very polite staff, top rated and fast service, big portions, and unforgetably gorgeous view to the sunset over the sea! In addition- the personnel has a very positive attitude to your pet- they brought a bowl with water for our dog without explicitly asking them to fo so! Although the restaurant was full, there was always a waiter available to respond to any need we had, to ask if everything goes fine! The music is not loud, you can only listen to the sound of the gently splashing waters of the bay while surrendering bite by bite to the temptation of the fantastic food and relaxing in the cosy atmosphere. The desert is a compliment from the restaurant- a refreshing watermelon 🍉 Nothing more to want, except to come back it again and again!💖 If you go in the evening, make sure you have a reservation in advance. A highly...
