Fish Tavern FANARI — Restaurant in Thermaikos Municipality

What looks like a nice family tavern is actually a huge tourist trap. The prices are just outrageous. There is no menu and they don't tell you the prices. We payed €40 for two small fish, one small tzatziki portion, one grilled vegetable portion and one coffee. And I'm pretty sure the guy told me €30 when I was paying by card, while €40 was actually billed. For comparison I payed €22 for dinner for two people in Nea Kallikrateia, which included big portions of gyros and drinks. Two is a great host, he would talk to you about the food and explains a lot. They only serve fresh wild fish, they make the moussaka which is awesome, all is cooked great. The atmosphere of the place is so warm and is just on the beach - you hear the sea. They play quiet music and you can spend a whole evening without knowing it is too late. This place is a must...
