If you’re in Volos, don’t miss to visit Monosándalos! The atmosphere is laid-back, and the staff are very friendly and quick, even though the restaurant is always busy, especially in the evenings — so making a dinner reservation is a must. One of the highlights is the tsipouro — you can order it with titbit (with meze) or without titbit (without meze). I definitely recommend going with meze, as the small dishes here are really delicious and nicely varied. I also highly recommend the grilled octopus and the fried calamari — delicious, well prepared, tender, and full of flavor. We asked to get the tsipouro fish that was priced 10 euros in the menu, but the waiter told us she has fresh fish and it costs 30 euros each, after that we decided to order 4 different meals and the waiter laughed in our face. Later on we received only 3 meals, finished them unhappy while my wife is still waiting for her meal, then we asked for the bill and thats when we received the 4th meal... Other than that the salad was not fresh at all and the food was flavorless. And they tried to charge us extra money for things we didnt order. Not recommended...

After a few hours of road trip we found this gem of a traditional mezedopolio. Combining unique flavors from the region of Volos with the freshness of the ingredients, Monosandalos is located near the Agios Konstantinos church near the port.
