El Greco tavern — Restaurant in Volvi Municipality

The location was decent enough, but that’s where the good vibes ended. The atmosphere? Pretty much non-existent. I was half-expecting to hear some bouzouki music for that classic Greek feel, but nope, nothing like that.

We ordered a bottle of domestic semi-dry wine, which was actually real excellent—but it was served with glasses all the way across the table. My partner and I were just sitting by ourselves at opposit end, waiting for the other couple, so that was a bit of customer disrespect. And let’s not even get started on the cutlery and plates just dumped in the middle for “self-service.” When our food finally arrived, they didn’t even take away the empty plates, so the table was over cramped. Plus, the paper tablecloth with the restaurant logo looked like something you’d find in a fast-food joint—definitely not a great touch for a sit-down meal.

Now, onto the food. The chicken thigh souvlaki was decent, but I mean, it’s hard to mess that up. The meat platter was below average, and the grilled octopus? Absolutely flavorless, just a single tentacle sitting in something look and taste as pumpkin mash that was just as bland. And when we tried to order pasta, they told us it was too late to place that order—too late for something that only takes 10 minutes to prepare? Really?

For a restaurant that boasts almost 50 years of history, I expected way more. The price was fair, but honestly, given the experience, they should’ve compensated us for ruining...

Definitely one of the better taverns in Nea Vrasna. It’s has a more upscale feel than the rest although the prices are reasonable and the value for money is spot on.

The garden is cozy and well lit. The table settings are elegant without being pretentious.

We received timely and adequate service. No complains and delays despite the tavern being full to the brim.

The food was fresh and everything we ordered was delicious. The menu is diverse and has many interesting choices - a breath of fresh air compared to the average tavern menus.

Highly recommend this place. Would return in a heartbeat when I am back...

We got here after we read the reviews. I have to say i was a bit afraid i will get disappointed, but the moment i got near the restaurant i got a good feeling. It felt warm and nice. the menu is very full , all kind of food and the prices are fair. Afyer we eat, i have to say everything was quite good, delicious. The only thing i missed here was a feeling that i felt in other places, where the people that work there ar more friendly more opened. At this restaurant they just do their jobs. Fast quiet and good. After all it was delicious! can't give less...
