We came to the restaurant based on positive recommendations, so I have to share that we had a bad service experience—angry, and even a bit scary. The food was mediocre at best. In detail: We arrived around 17:30, and it was fairly empty. We ordered about 8 main courses and 6 appetizers. We asked for a recommendation for a kids’ dish, and they suggested pasta bolognese. We asked if it was possible to separate the sauce from the pasta for a picky eater, and they said the pasta and meat were served separately, so it wouldn’t be a problem.
After 45 minutes with no dishes arriving, we politely asked if they could please check on the pasta for the hungry kids. They ignored us. The pasta finally arrived after an hour and ten minutes—together with the meat. We asked for it to be separated, and they started saying we hadn’t requested that. They got angry with us and aggressively took away all the pasta plates that had been served.
We had also ordered a steak, which arrived after an hour as well—the meat was tough to cut. They didn’t refill our water or replace cutlery. Drinks didn’t arrive until after many reminders.

Read moreWe were the last ones to come in to dine and the place was already empty except the staff. We (4 adults and 2 kids) came in with reservations after 8pm and had an amazing dinning experience. Our host was very welcoming and was pleased to tell us of the local produce and products their menu had to offer; including seasonal delights, and a couple vegetarian options too. All the appetizers we had were amazing but my favorite was the spicy Greek cheese spread...it was spicier than others I've tried and also chunkier; which I loved! And then the main dishes.....there isn't a bad one. I say this because we tried them all and each ones first bite was met with a moment of silence as our taste buds consumed the abundance of fresh and savory flavors! From the Greek salad, to the stuffed eggplant, and even the large Greek sausage...it was all incredible. The atmosphere was cozy, warm and homelike. Like real guests welcomed to dine and be treated with a REAL Greek experience. Simply put...if your in the Greek northern country side,...
Read moreWe ate in Zissis restaurant at 2.10.19, ~17:30-18:00 - a family with 3 mature kids. It's a restaurant at the enterance to a small hotel. When we arrived to the place - we were the only guests who sat outside. Later on - more people arrived. The yard is nice - you sit under vines (there were grapes that you can eat !!!). We heard very strong recommendations on this place. I can stay that it's a good place, but not all the dishes are in the same high level. For intance - the lantis soup was very good, but we didn't like the vegetables soup. Also - the pasta Bolognese was disappointing. The spinach pie, the souflaki and the fish (trout - 8 Euros) were good. There are not many desserts there (especially not chocolate dessert), so we moved to another place in Aristi for the dessert. The price are in average to Greece. The...
