Dilina Taverna - Grill House — Restaurant in Zakynthos Municipality

We were recommended this place via our hotel, with the promise of good views and good food. Upon arrival the restaurant had no atmosphere and the view was pretty average, with electric poles in the view. The waiter put a bottle of water and some bread on our table, which we thought was complimentary as we didn’t ask for it, only to find when we got our bill we had been charged. The food itself was cooked fresh but over seasoned with Salt and the fish was served with the head and tail. Very minimal garnish Aswell, both the mains were a pricey €14 and far from the quality expected from a Greek tavern. we have eaten at different restaurants on the islands and all have exceeded our expectations. Go see the sunset at Keri Cliffs and then stop here for dinner. You get a hometown feel when you are here unlike a lot of the tourist traps elsewhere. My wife and I had a beer, cucumber and tomato salad, saganaki (fried cheese) and pork off the spit. It was all unbelievably good. Everything was fresh, the cheese is the best on the island we tried it at every restaurant almost. I wasnt sure about the pork so the younger waiter took me right over to the spit cut several pieces of meat off and let me sample. The pork was like butter and melted in your mouth. There were 5-10 wasps at our table. We wanted to dine here because of the beautiful view (thats why they got 1 star). When we complained, we were adviced to eat inside where it was warmer than outside. We were not even done with our starter and we got our main. When we got inside to escape the wasps, the food was cold. The servers asked how things were going, we told them and they did not care.

It was expensive, cold food with loads of wasps and hypocritical servers. They even told us we had no right to complain. The problem of the wasps was known and nothing done about it.
