What an unbelievable location matched by excellent food. The menu has plenty of choice although mainly traditional Greek which is why we wanted from a place like this. There are lots of meat dishes all of which were were cooked perfectly. I’d highly recommend the meze sharer to start which was divine and plenty for to people. We even shared a bit with our 7 year old daughter. We also had the mixed grill to share as a main and the plate was enormous! Glad we didn’t order an extra portion of fries and to be fair the waitress kindly persuaded us not to. For the location they could have charged a high price but we found it very reasonable indeed considering the portion sizes. The sunset was beautiful and we timed it to perfection as the sun dropped into the sea as we were eating our mains. 100% recommended.

Just loved the food. We had the mixed appetizer and I have to say, the best fried zucchini balls on the island. Also the moussaka, villager sausage and cheese in dough (can't remember the name) were heavenly. For the main course we had the Zakynthian rabbit and the beef stifado and both were just delicious (especially loved the onions, those were something out of this world). And A plus for the location on the edge of the cliff with the sun setting in the sea. One of the most romantic places of Zakynthos with great food. Oh, almost forgot the staff. The two guys serving us were very nice and polite people and the two women in the kitchen are just the sweetest with the traditional greek cooking skills. Definitely would recommend coming here and will sure visit again if we ever come back for a holiday.

If you’re after a sunset dinner with lovely food then here’s your spot. A great view of the Ionian Sea and the sunset. We visited twice and loved our food both times. Favourite was the pancetta/pork belly on the spit (can’t remember the proper name), which was mouthwatering. My pic doesn’t do it justice! Good service from giannis and the team. Thank you. Points to note. Booking is recommended, especially if you want a prime sunset table. But in mid summer the pre sunset hour or two is still very hot so if you’re not keen on warm/hot direct sunlight ask for a shadier table at the back. Still get a great view. Monday nights are particularly busy. Would recommend if you’re in the south of the island.

Review: A Disappointing Experience

I recently visited sunset taverna and unfortunately, the experience was far from pleasant. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that the staff was disorganized and uninterested in providing good service. Despite standing at the entrance for several minutes, none of the servers acknowledged us, and we had to ask for a table ourselves.

When we finally got their attention, we were told to "sit wherever you want," only to find that nearly every table was covered in leftover food and hadn't been cleaned. We reluctantly chose a table and sat down, but it was still dirty, and no one came to clean it or even offer us menus. We waited for 10 minutes, surrounded by uncleaned tables and ignored by the staff.

It's shocking that a restaurant would seat customers at a dirty table without bothering to provide basic service. This level of negligence and rudeness is unacceptable. I would not recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant...

We visited as a family of 4. We booked in advance as the restaurant looked busy on each occasion we passed. Due to the short notice booking we couldn't get an edge of balcony view, however this really wasn't an issue as the sun had already set on our arrival. The atmosphere was good with chilled relaxing music playing in the background. The menu selection was good but limited if, as my daughter is, a vegetarian. Initially the service was excellent, the food and drinks order arrived promptly, the food being very good, however the service seemed to go downhill afterwards. We ordered a second round of drinks but after 20 minutes or so these hadn't arrived, once the staff had been nudged the drinks arrived, we attempted to order desert however the staff just didn't seem interested in taking our order, paying the bill was only acheived by visiting the bar. If the service had been up to scratch then I would have left a 5...
