One of Zakynthos hidden gem. We had a delightful dinner this evening. Came here reading other reviews and I was not mistaken. It's far out tourist area and it is popular among locals. Same prices or 1-2 euro less than tourist area restaurants but bigger size portions and better quality. Very nice garden and wonderful service. We have been asked several time during the dinner how we like it or if we need something else. One of my kids had Moussaka and it iwas by far double than any other moussaka I have ever ordered in my life. He only ate half of it and believe me this is the first time when he was not able finish a meal in last few years. The other two kids had pasta (Bolognese and Carbonara). For pasta lovers I have to say these two are far from original recipe and you can feel the local touch. The one named Carbonara have mushrooms and probably cream (but it was very tasty). Also the Bolognese had different style of ragu. Anyways, gigantic portions, Italians would make easily 2 portions out of it or even 3 if served as primo piato. Don't need to mention that they will finish the 2nd half the next day 🙂. My wife and I went for local. I had rabbit in olive oil and oregano and my wife had the gigantic chicken skewer (souvlaki). Both were very tasty. In the end we got the house complementary mille-feuille which was absolutely amazing. I would like to find time to return if possible before leaving the...

This is easily one of our favorite restaurants to eat at while on the island. We visited during the slow season (November) when most of the smaller villages and taverna's are closed. As such, we could not find moussaka nearly anywhere as it is a seasonal dish. Even in the heart of downtown Zakynthos we found it impossible to find moussaka. We were pleasantly surprised to find it here. They had many new appetizers we had yet to try, one of which was the "Skordostoumpi", that we enjoyed thoroughly. The portions of our meals were incredibly large and satisfactory for the low cost. We have never had such large portions in Greece before. Neither of us could even finish half of our main plates. The service was outstanding and our waiter was incredibly friendly. Before eating he asked us about our vacation and he was very attentive in checking up on us. He even held the door for us as we left the restaurant. The atmosphere inside was very nice inside as well as they had decorated for Christmas. The complementary dessert was also the best we have had in Greece so far. Typically we would expect a plate of cut fruits, sometimes with honey drizzled atop, but we instead received an extremely delicious "mille feuille" that was beyond mouth watering. We would definitely recommend going out of your way to eat here when you visit Zakynthos. You won't be...

Don’t ever go here! Based on the 4.6 Google rating, we choose this place for tonight’s dinner. We ordered as starters the Mother-in-Law Skordostoumpi which was OK and the Meatballs home-made-recjpe with mint parsley and ouzo. The meatballs were extremely dry as if they had been heated too many times, and absolutely not nice to eat. While we were still eating our starters, they dropped our main course on our table - the chicken skewer. The chicken was ‘kind of’ OK but the accompanying salade had brown edges and was not fresh at all. After the main course we got a desert on the house which was not tasteful at all. When the waiter asked us for our feedback, we told him our opinion. We could not help thinking that he did not hear this for the first time. There was however not attempt for excuses or compensation. We noticed that the restaurant was filled with large groups of 15 to 20 people who do - during their Zakynthos tour - not choose their own restaurant and not even their own food. People, do not go here! Zakynthos has so much better places...

We visited here late afternoon at the recommendation of a local winery we had just visited (Callinico Wines). When we arrived we were made to feel very welcome indeed. This is a local restaurant off the tourist trail. The menu is extensive with lots of specials to be had. On the first visit we tried the recommended Mandy’s Cheese Pie, Mandy’s special salad and a pork dish for starters. Not knowing the size of the portions we had ordered 2 mains as well😱. The food was of very high quality and well presented. The portions are generous! We loved it that much that we took a taxi from our hotel the following night to dine again (well worth the €20 taxi fare). We were welcomed back like old friends. We were not disappointed, food was just as fabulous as the day before. There were couples, families and larger groups dining that evening, giving the restaurant a terrific vibe. This hidden gem is well worth a visit, we will most definitely be returning next year.
