This one star rating is only for my experience with the day shift workers. Yesterday, 24th December, I went at noon to try their famous duck curry. I saw a young lady by the entrance as I entered who said nothing to me. I approached a lady to let her know I had reserved a duck curry meal. About 15 minutes after sitting that was when I realised that the girl by the entrance worked there as hopped to her feet to address a couple of Indian and caucasian decent. She sat them down, offered drinks of their choice. 24 minutes later a very friendly young lady who seemed to be one of the managers asked if I was being helped. I said no, I've been ignored since entering she apologised, and asked what I'd like to drink. Halfway through the cocktail the food arrived. Reluctantly I'll have to say I was disappointed. I had gotten a bowl of mostly bones and skin. They couldn't have known i don't eat chicken or duck skin, but still ..... where was the meat. There was no room to savor this so-called best duck curry. I ate what little pieces of meat I could find, leaving most of the contents in the bowl. The day shift staff didn't make my visit any better. They need hospitality training. Even the bartender strangely enough was unfriendly. I go to Bistro often. Usually in the evening. Those evening shift workers are the best. From manager to the cleaner. I would give them 10 stars. I will never go back during the day. Night...
Read moreToday my family and I visited this restaurant to celebrate my niece graduating with high hopes, but regrettably the experience left much to be desired.
From the moment we walked in, the staff's attitude was cold and unwelcoming. There was no greeting, no smile or a basic acknowledgment which one would expect in the hospitality business. It wasn’t just us; the entire atmosphere felt off and we overheard other tables discussing the poor service.
Guyana is a beautiful and developing destination with so much potential and I wholeheartedly encourage people to visit. However, the lack of customer service in places like this will only havea negative impact. Why should we work hard and spend our money in establishments where we aren’t made to feel welcome or appreciated?
Sadly, this experience has left a lasting impression and I won’t be returning. I truly hope the management takes this feedback seriously as good hospitality is the foundation of any successful business, especially in a growing tourism market.
Basic customer service training required, a simple smile goes along way! Thank you but...
Read moreI have dined at this establishment a few times before, and while the experience has typically been slightly above average, tonight was, without question, the worst dining experience I have ever had.
The service was abysmal—our food took an astonishing 85 minutes to arrive. When it finally did, the quality was deeply disappointing, barely warranting a 4/10 if I’m being generous. Our waitress was inattentive, displaying a lackadaisical attitude and showing little to no interest in our table throughout the evening.
To make matters worse, the air conditioning unit, positioned just a few inches above and to the side of my head, was literally dripping water. This made the experience not only uncomfortable but utterly unacceptable for a dining environment.
My older brother, who had migrated several years ago, was very eager to try this restaurant for our dinner. By the end of the evening, his parting words were, “never again.”
This was a thoroughly terrible experience, and I cannot in good conscience recommend this restaurant to anyone...
