I had heard good things about Blue Bahia and had been past it a few times on the beach, but had never actually been. - I made sure to change that this visit.
The place is a little bit tucked away in an unassuming island neighborhood, and you even have to (...I should say 'get to'....) drive on the beach for the last leg. That section of sand is compacted, and it presents no problems for a regular car.
I had a drink and a meal at the bar, while dining alone. - I had the Fresh Island Lobster Dinner: Two lobster tails steamed or grilled, with a choice of two sides. I got it grilled (with the garlic butter dipping sauce), a salad, and mixed veg. The lobster tails are small, but the three items combined made for a perfect meal size. The lobster was simply prepared and presented, as were the two sides. They are things you could get elsewhere.....However, why would you? - Though simple, everything was prepared properly and was quite tasty. And all for about $20. Combine that with the service and the location/view, and you have a winning combination. 5 stars.
Speaking of service, I was well taken care of by two chill guys. Special shout out to Walter. Had a chance to chat with a local and Walter.....Good people; good times.
Blue Bahia is the kind of restaurant bar you come to for the experience most people come to Roatan for: chill people, relaxed vibe, good food, unique setting, nice value. - I will...
Read moreWe thought this place was great!—the employees AND the owners are absolutely fabulous people, the atmosphere is awesome, and the food and drinks were enjoyed. There is live music on Sundays and Thursdays. They regularly post to Facebook to announce happenings and specials. I recommend their breakfast for sure-especially the side of potatoes, which I am now trying to replicate in my own kitchen. I also recommend their baleadas, typical Honduran breakfast, pastilito, and their smoothies for breakfast. They open at 7AM. We took advantage of their burger special on Saturday, and that was really enjoyed. Also HIGHLY recommended is the Buffalo chicken sandwich (make sure to get the battered version), which went great with their veggie lover salad with blue cheese dressing. Their sandwiches are served with homemade buns. Their tropical cocktails were also better than maybe all other places on the island and were served with GLASS STRAWS!!! As someone who can not tolerate the texture of paper straws, I thought this was such a nice touch. We want to thank the staff and the owners and wish everyone the...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Blue Bahia Beach Grill in Sandy Bay, Roatan, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I arrived, the laid-back beachfront vibe and stunning Caribbean Sea views set the perfect tone. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home.
I tried their grilled fish, which was cooked to perfection and bursting with that authentic island taste. The menu has something for everyone, from juicy burgers to tasty seafood dishes. Pairing my meal with one of their tropical cocktails (the Monkey LaLa is a must-try) made it even more enjoyable.
What I loved most was the relaxed atmosphere—sitting by the water, feeling the breeze, and enjoying great service. Whether you’re there for a casual breakfast before a dive lunch, a sunset dinner, or one of their fun themed nights like lobster night or live music Thursdays and tonight (Sunday) , Blue Bahia Beach Grill is a gem worth visiting. I can’t...
