Rub & Roll Villa Étterem és Rendezvényközpont Gödöllő — Restaurant in Gödöllő Regional Unit

Four of us had lunch at Rub & Roll on a hot Saturday in late July. The place was not busy when we got there around 13:30 and we grabbed a four-top in the shade on the large outdoor covered patio. After the server took our orders and brought our drinks, we waited nearly one hour for the food to arrive, which was surprising given how few tables were occupied. Something was screwed up in the kitchen, and I can't blame the servers for this, and their service was quite good considering.

During most of that wait and during our subsequent meal time, we were made to endure the loud noise that sounded like someone grinding metal just inside the adjacent main building.To say this was annoying would be an understatement. We were told they were constructing a fitness center in the basement. As this was not an emergency repair, it showed little care for customers' enjoyment of their meal.

To make matters worse, once the food finally arrived, it became apparent the food really wasn't prepared very well. Whoever cooked the fajitas I ordered should be arrested for impersonating a chef. The dish did have the usual combination of peppers and onions and meat, but unbelievably had absolutely no seasoning. A quick Google search confirm my guess that the missing ingredients were cumin, oregano, chili powder, paprika and garlic powder, and virtually every online recipe I checked contained these five seasonings. Apparently no one has told the chef at Rub & Roll about this.

Also, the meat in my fajitas was terrible. Small, dry, thin, hard squares of tasteless beef brisket that I suspect had been previously cooked separately (also without seasoning) were apparently tossed into the vegetables near the end of the cooking, rather than being cooked in the same pan as the vegetables to enhance the flavor of the dish. A total fajita disaster! And the "Forever West" ribs one of the others got were also very dry.

The final insult was the cost of this fake fajitas -- 6000 forints. I can get some of the best food in Budapest for that price. Rest assured, I will not make this...

The place is super cool and interior design and atmosphere is very nice, must be so nice in the summer as I saw there is a huge terrace, food was good but too greesy, the ribs plate (1kg) was tasty but in the last photo is the bones and fat that came out of it so the pure meat that we ate ended up to be very small portion, tortilla plate was okay although I didn't like the tortilla itself, it was fried bread home made tortillas, the roasted potatoes was insanely tasty I enjoyed that the most, prices are great though , for ribs, side dishes, tortillas plate with beef, 2 Pepsi and beer we paid only 15k HUF, service was great and waitresses...

Előre bocsátom, hogy nem járunk hetente étterembe, és nincs smokerem otthon, így abszolút laikus vendégként az alábbiakat szeretném elmondani: 13:00 órára (vasárnapi ebed) mentünk, a nyitas 11:30. Amikor érkeztünk, nem volt más rajtunk kívül.

Pozitívumok: finom limonádék, tobb(2) választható köret az árban, élő zene, a hibák kompenzálására való készség.

Negatívumok: A pincér kislány nagyon aranyos volt, de nyilvánvalóan kezdő - ami nem az ő hibája. Aki őt információkkal ellátja, annak kellene megtanítania, hogy mit kell tudni az ételekről, az adott napi kínálatrol. Tehát: a rendelesnel kiderült (szerinte ezt előre szoktak jelezni), hogy semmilyen marhaszegyes étel nincs… (én pont ezért mentem..) vagyis hogy maga a marhaszegy (almost heaven) van, 1.(valószínűleg itt kellett volna a rutinos étterembe járónak gondolni arra, hogy ez nyitás után 1,5 oraval miként fordulhat elő…megmaradt? Mikorról?)

A ferjem megkapta azt az egy marhaszegyet. 3 vékony szelet, egyébként ízletes, de száraz (!) hus. Én egyszer ettem (másutt) 14 órán át füstöltet, és az szetomlik az ember szájában… ezt a csodát sajnos nem tudta a mostani és nem csak a vastagság hiánya miatt. Nagy kár érte, mert összességében a hamburgerekkel és köreteivel a gyerekek meg voltak elégedve.

Az, hogy a változtatások következtében lemaradt az ételem, nekem nem probléma, szóltunk, hozták amint kesz lett (a rendelest felvevő pincér kislány nem jött többet az asztalunkhoz.. pedig nem haraptuk volna le a fejet:-), +ajanlottak cserébe egy desszertet, ami igazán jól esett. Összeségében ennél sokkal jobbat várok, ha 32.000.- forintot elköltök egy ebédre. Mivel olvastam jó értékeléseket, bízom benne, hogy csak a mai nap nem...
