What?!!! My nose leads me in the right direction again! I arrived in Gogollo on train and just started walking. In what seemed a thinning out of the village I came upon it. The large yellow pub...called, you guessed it. The Yellow Pub! I drifted in for a drink on a hot day but after perusing the menu I settled in Hungarian Schnitzel. It was as big as my head. I chose beautifully roasted veggies as my side and settled in to what would become a battle of wits. I'm thankful the schnitzel was literally cooked and for all intents and purposes, well, dead. So, my wits win again! I'm deeply satisfied and have thoroughly enjoyed my visit here! This restaurant was recommended me by a colleague, I was excited to try some authentic Hungarian food in Godollo! The pork tenderloin was a bit dry and I wish it was more seasoned, but the flavor profile when eaten with the noodles and mushroom sauce was good. I loved the sweet and sour cucumber salad with creamy sour cream on top! The citrus dressed salad was a bit lacking in quality as well. The baked potatoes were nice and crispy and cheese and delicious! The service was okay, the waiters were fairly attentive but not too kind (I assume it’s the Eastern European brand of hospitality). Nice atmosphere especially during spring and summertime when outdoor seating is also available. Mostly hungarian cuisine offered accompanied by an assortment of fish choices and a bit of a healthy selection. Service is good, staff is friendly, they even have a playing corner for the kids. I go there regurarly for over ten years now and always had a good experience. When doing extended biking training i usually sit for a drink and coffee to chill at the end without ordering food and they never had an issue with that either.
