Halászcsárda — Restaurant in Keszthelyi járás

Food is very nice in this restaurant, tasty fish dishes. But - at the moment of payment I realized that the wine that was served to us, was automatically calculated for 200ml. While the menu indicates the price for 100ml.

Servers never explicitly asked us how much wine we wanted (as it always happened to us in restaurants in Budapest for example). Each time we asked for a glass of wine and servers decided by themselves to serve us glasses with 200ml of wine. When I asked the question to the server (big guy with tattoos) he answered that this is how “glass of wine” understood here and we’re in Hungary. So we kind of have to take it as it is.

This rude answer completely spoiled the impression of this restaurant where service does not match the high prices of the place.

The price that matters is the price indicated in the menu and as a client I refuse to take any responsibility of decisions taken by default by servers in terms of quantities etc without asking the client. Big...

For its location and view of the lake I would give this place a 4 star. The food is nothing special, no better than any of the other local buffets and fast outlets. The price of the fish soup is about 4 to 5 times more than anywhere else. Fish soup is traditionally served with bread, and for the price that this place charges you would expect it to be served in finer tablewear and with freshly baked ( in house) bread rolls, not sliced bread from the local supermarket. The plates were chipped and cracked. The grilled fish was on the verge of being uncooked, over salted and the grilled vegetables looked suspiciously like from frozen. The place looked good at first, but in the end we left with a very bad impression. The fish soup was good, but even though we asked for extra innards, there was hardly any in it. My wife specifically asked which foods didn't include milk and chose "Whole perch, Fried potatoes, fresh salad", and yet they brought her a salad with some yoghurt on it. The fried potatoes were hollow inside and barely enough for half of the fish. When we asked for the leftovers to be packed, the waitress brought us a box and left it for us to put away the food instead of providing a service and packing it for us.
