Fakapu Pince és Panzió — Restaurant in Tokaji járás

Abysmal, confused service. We came in late this morning and before we sat down, we had to pass the waiter at the bar (who clearly was more interested in rolling his cigarette than in serving customers). We asked him if we could come in for coffee and some other drinks. He tried to push breakfast on us, so I repeated that we only wanted drinks, to which he responded by asking what exact kind of drinks we wanted. (Huh? How would we have known what drinks they sold without first seeing a menu?) I asked for the drinks menu, and again the waiter asked if we wanted to eat, so again I told him we were only having drinks and that we wanted the drinks menu. He gave us the menus, finally, after we sat down.

We made our choices and waited for him to return to take our order. We saw another customer pay for his order, saw other customers come in, then noticed the waiter coming back into the restaurant from the street (I suppose after smoking his cigarette?) and heard him making coffees etc for the customers who'd arrived after us, but he didn't grace us with his presence. After waiting nearly ten minutes without having our orders taken, and getting increasingly irritated, we left, and instead went to the nice cafe near the Tokaj Museum, where we had good coffee, home lemonades and some wines.

What a pity - the place looks lovely, but they need to either completely retrain their waiter, or sack him and hire more professional staff. We won't be giving Fakapu another chance,...

The location right in the centre of town allows you to walk around this small town taking in the atmosphere, the food was really good far better than I was expecting after seeing some of the local eating establishments.

We were offered seating outside, however as it started to drop cold we decided to take a seat inside the restaurant.

The food was really good the cream of strawberry soup was really refreshing, crispy goose leg with red cabbage and rustic roast potato worked really well and the flavours were well balanced. Mangalitsa Pork steak that was thick and grilled to perfection with potato dumplings and sour cream.

Served with local wines, and amazing meal at a really competitive price.

Only slight issue was a problem with the bill at the end and overcharged by an extra main course, however when mentioned was obviously a simple mistake.

We entered in this so called restaurant and asked the waiter if we can eat in one hour because we had to arrive at a concert at a certându-se hour. He said yes. We decided what to eat end we tried numeroase Times to contact the waiter. Even if we were at the table near the bar, and both waiters were there, they pretended they do not hear us. I asked the woman if she can Take our order, but she looked away, as if we were not there. I traveled all around the world, but I never sau anything like this, so rude people. The owner of this place must be ashamed with so rude and stupid employers. We were forced to eat in other place, unfortunately, where the food was real real bad. If you are forigner do not enter in this place, they do not speak to you and do not serve you if you are not native maghiar. Shame on you how you treat turists. Sad place, sad and...
