It's not so easy to find Illy caffé in Iceland, and it's by far the best Italian coffee and that was the first thing to capture my attention. Another plus was it was pride parade weekend and they were one of the few places to have both a rainbow flag and the trans flag. Loved it. The place is amazing and the service was super, smiling lovely people that welcome you and make you feel at home. I was invited to sit in the sunny garden in the back and I enjoyed a state of the art cappuccino (the foaming was simply perfect) with a very rich carrot cake. I cannot recommend this place more. I have been here quite a few times now, it's my favourite place by far in Borganes and I have tried others. I have tasted all of their desserts and one sandwich they were all delicious but my favourite remains chocolate cake and skyr house cake. Their cappuccino remains superb, all the times I have been here there was not one bad cappuccino and I ordered it all of the time. There are many things I love about this place besides the atmosphere. The prices might be higher than average but the staff is always cool and lovely, they don't fake it and that is important. They have real towels in the toilet not paper ones (which is quite unique) and they always smile and make you feel at home besides having a lot of delicious food and lovely plants on offer. I am not a fan of cards and tarots but if you are into that sort of thing this is THE place for you as they have plenty of different cards and a...

What?
We finally found a place in Iceland that knows how to make proper coffee! After a long search, it was a delight to drink a quality, delicious cup. The cakes didn't disappoint either; they were fresh, tasty, and clearly made with a homemade touch. The high-quality ingredients and love that went into making the cakes were evident in every bite. We tried the carrot cake and the apple cake, and they were served with a tasty whipped cream that added a lot to the experience.
The Bottom Line
Blómasetrið - Kaffi Kyrrð is definitely worth a visit. If you're looking for a pleasant break with a real coffee and a wonderful dessert, this is the...

This wonderful cafe hidden behind a solid wooden door offers a great selection of hot drinks including wines and spirits, homemade deserts and some light snacks such as panino and garlic bread. Plan ahead and ensure you can hang out there for at least an hour so that you can really enjoy their interior design decorated with hand picked artifacts from all over the world, read some books, or, perhaps, even do a self-guided Tarot cards session that are lying around. The cafe has three beautiful rooms with comfortable chairs and sofas situated in what looks like a zen garden. The energy of the place and wonderful hospitality of the stuff will definitely leave you in a much positive and relaxed spirit. Our server, Katrin, was the most welcoming, personable and accommodating person we've met on our trip (though all the Icelanders are very nice and hospitable people!). Thank you for such a...
