Is a gem of a café, offering a coffee experience that is truly hard to find elsewhere. Located in the picturesque village of Borgarnes, it sits by the water, giving you a spectacular view of the fjord. There are few places where you can enjoy a delicious coffee with such a serene, natural backdrop – it’s like having a front-row seat to the beauty of Iceland.

I visited on a weekday, and it was pleasantly quiet, with only a few other patrons around. This made for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for unwinding or simply enjoying the view. The staff was efficient and friendly, and service was impressively quick, even though everything felt thoughtfully prepared. It was refreshing to have a quick turnaround without feeling rushed, a balance many places struggle to achieve.

One small highlight that stood out was the selection of pastries. Fresh and clearly made with care, they paired wonderfully with the coffee. I recommend trying the cinnamon roll – it was the perfect combination of soft and sweet.

Overall, Geirabakarí Kaffihús is a must-visit for anyone passing through Borgarnes. It’s a café experience that’s as much about the atmosphere as the...

We had such a bad experience even before entering this restaurant and this made us lose our interest in dining here. Our family just wanted to take a look at the menu before confirming if we wanted to dine there. FYI, We were not even blocking the queue or entrance of the restaurant/cutting the queue when the server told us go to the end of the queue which was in another spot. Thereafter we said we were taking a look at the menu and was not officially queueing yet when she told us to just move aside in a harsh and rude tone. That was uncalled for and we were potentially a paying customer which were rudely told to move aside just because we were trying to look at the menu. I have known for icelandic people to be warm and friendly but this behaviour was appalling and off-putting as we are tourists and were just interested to find out more about what the restaurant was selling. I do not think my family and I deserve such comments/attitude when we have been really polite and just curious in general. This experience had been terrible even before stepping foot into the restaurant and i would not recommend this restaurant at all because of the bad attitude...

I don't know if this is a tourist trap, but it is strategically well placed. The prices are really great regarding the quality of the product. They have a wide variety of pastries, salty sandwiches, many coffee ☕ options and soft drinks at a really good price and cheaper than many others restaurant and cafés.

But the most amazing feature is the kindness and welcomeness From the lady at the counter. She gives you a huge authentic smile and offers you the best selection and even some personal preferences. She advises the type of bread in dependency of what you are looking for.

As well, always offering if you want to split, for couples or eating right now. She adequately placed the order as best suits for your needs.

Best customer service ever and best attitude. I really loved the place.

We took 3 pastries and 1 whole toast bread to go. We would have wished to take a coffee but we were kinda in a...

Very rude lady, don't like her tone the way she speak. Asked to pay for a small cup of coffee they put on a flusk in the open. No sign saying what it is. Is it hot water? If accidently pour do I need to throw away? There are glasses and flusk of water on the same spot. All 14 of us were there having Latte and cakes. It not like we didn't eat anything ☹️. At least if they put up a sign saying water is free but the coffee in the flusk have to pay, then it's different story. The point is they way she confront me about not paying for the coffee as if I m trying to cheat for a free coffee. If she work in this service line she should know how to talk to a customer. The way we dress and speak she should already know we are not locals. As tourist we wouldn't know but we always try to be as friendly and courteous as possible
