After spending time looking at the geyser, we headed for this restaurant. We got there a bit later (2:30 pm) than our usual lunch time. There were less people dining but there were a plenty of selections. I opted for the soup section, as it was chilly outside. As I was wait to order, a chef brought a new batch of fish soup!! I had to order one, and my intuition was right…!! It was warm and full of fish meat!! My friend ordered the same, and she was very happy with what she ordered. I would recommend this soup to folks wanting a good hearty meal. If I had more time, I would order additional serving of bread. Also this is a cafeteria style, so one would get what they want and proceed to the cashier. Unfortunately, dishes like fish and chips would have to be ordered at that time, so additional time would be needed for the plate...

we went to see the geysirs and thought we could have a coffee afterwards, so we went back inside to look at the menu. we were stood in front of the counter for a few minutes while staff looked at us as long as we were not looking at them. at that point we found out we had entered at closing time, which of course would be our fault, though we only noticed by reading it on the whiteboard. at no point did any of the staff tell us anything about that, talk to us, gesture towards us or even acknowledge us, just turned around and we had to leave through the gift shop. the atmosphere is pretty and we are sure the food is nice as well, but it would be very nice if the customer service was adjusted as we are sure a lot of unknowing first time tourists enter this place. thank...

We stopped here midday through our exploration of the Golden Circle. There's plenty of parking outside and it's right across from the Geysir. It's very busy as there are lots of tourists who make a pit stop here for souvenirs, bathroom breaks, and food. This is canteen style dining, where you pick your food while standing in line.

There are lots of seating options and food options as well. I got the lamb sandwich and fish soup. Both were delicious. The lamb was very fresh and juicy. The fish soup was my favorite though, as it was so flavorful and clean tasting.

The staff are under a lot of pressure for service due to the sheer number of customers, so don't expect anything super warm or welcoming on that front.

Great place to stop for lunch! Bathrooms are also...
