Tried beers from a bunch of Icelandic breweries while visiting the island and Malbygg is my favorite. I've tried thousands of beers, and consider theirs very good. If Otur and Kisi were available locally, I'd keep both stocked in my beer fridge.
The taproom itself was a nice space, very clean and comfortable. Bartender was very friendly, informative, and patient with my terrible attempts to pronounce Icelandic words. Again, if they were local, I'd visit regularly. And I live in Fort Collins, CO, so that is high praise.

We were let in a few minutes early only to tour the awesome facility. We sampled almost everything they had to offer. In addition to all the delicious Iceland beers they offered rare American stouts too. Read moreA hidden gem in Reykjavik!! If you appreciate craft beer, absolutely plan a stop here. The location is a little unexpected, it's out near the container yard. At first I thought I had accidentally ended up in an industrial warehouse. It wasn't crowded even on a Saturday night. I hung out with these two awesome guys and enjoyed a laid-back atmosphere with some truly stellar beers. Take a Hopp scooter, bus, or your rental car from the city center...it's a far walk...
