This was my favorite stop in the Westfjords. It was super random and such a great surprise. I had read that the hot chocolate was excellent.. and indeed, excellent with homemade whip cream. I liked that it wasn’t artificially sweet like American hot cocoa. The waffles are fluffy, and they are paired with this homemade rhubarb jam and cream. The cappuccino was solid. I had tried the granola onsite and that was great too. The cookie wasn’t my favorite I’ve ever had but a dependable chocolate chip cookie. It’s a sweet family owned business and I enjoyed sitting on the old couch inside and admiring the house. I hate to review because I want it to be my hidden secret, but I hate to keep it from other visitors! I literally walked out with two jars of jam, a tote, and a...

Cozy and friendly coffeehouse located in Pingeyri Iceland in the Westfjords. This was a planed stop because of all their reviews that we read. We enjoyed a warm soup before our hike. Such a relaxing atmosphere. It is an old grocery store from 1915, which we restored and converted into a coffeehouse by the current owners who bought it in 2005. They renovated the whole house but kept most of the original interior. We took a walk to the back of the restaurant to where they had outdoor seating so we could take a look at a bus that they had for extra seating when this place gets crowded. We thought that was really cool! They are only open from June 1st to...

It's a cute cafe, you do get a lot of light flooding inside which is nice and they have a bus out back which has been converted to more booths/tables inside. Belgian style waffles were "ok" for us but the rhubarb marmelade was good and we loved the free coffee refill 👍. But a couple things we didn't really like... it was a bit dirty around the counter. The crumbs and some minor spills around the displays were a bit off-putting. And the employees were all taking up the couch areas (the most comfortable seats in the house to enjoy a coffee) just chatting or playing on phones until someone came in, then one person...

A quaint little cafe in the coastal town of Þingeyri that offers Belgian waffles (they melt in your mouth, Brussels style) and assorted hot beverages. There is wifi and ample seating inside and out (an old bus serves as a cool spot when the weather is warmer). The building is a converted old Norweigan general store from 1915, however it maintains much of the charm from that era. Things like the original shelves for storing dry goods behind the counter, wall coverings and the centre island full of drawers for store goods. Definitely worth a stop. They do take cards for payment.
