When we were in northern part of Iceland in the town called Isafjordur. We stopped by for a quick take away food at Thai Tawee for dinner to a small country hotel not far from town. Thai Tawee is in the same building as Netto, grocery store. The owner is Thai. The food stick to the original Thai taste using fresh local lamb, meat and fish. Vegetable and other Thai’s spices, curries and other ingredients have to be ordered either from Thailand or EU countries. The meal we ordered were not expensive. They do make some dishes to order - my daughter got Pad Thai and was quite happy with it, though it was sweet, which is unusual. I had hoped to get my fill of vegetables, which I've been short on while traveling Iceland, and while the lamb in chili sauce I selected from the buffet was delicious, there were hardly any vegetables in it, or in any other dish on the buffet. Read moreI visited this Thai restaurant today while on my trip to Isafjordor Iceland. Most of the items are displayed behind the counter. However I was feeling for a soup so I opted for the Chicken Tom Yum soup which you can get mild or spicy based on your preference.
It cost 2300 isk and took about 15 mins to prepare. When it arrived it was pipping hot and was served with a side of steamed 🍚. The flavors very amazing and full of chicken and it was a HUGE bowl of soup. 10/10 for taste and quality.
This was probably the best Tom Yum soup...
